sorry not thirdgen related but here goes:
Want to help the Camaro name continue, but don't exactly have it tatooed across your back, and not ready to sprout a Camaro label haircut?? Well here's your chance to let your opinion be known.
Go to http://www.gm.com/gmcomjsp/contactus/email.html and check off the "I am a current owner and have a question, concern or comment" box (it's the very 1st one). Hit "submit" at the bottom of the page, and fill out the information along with your message (limit's about 400 words, so no term papers please).
Request to have your message forwarded to Product Chairman Bob Lutz. Briefly tell what the Camaro name means to you.
DON'T USE PROFANITY, OR THREATS!!!
The idea is to convince, not terrorize.
If you are going to say that you will never buy another GM product (or will refuse to buy a V8 2+2 that isn't called Camaro), be certain to point out that Ford displays respect for historic names like Thunderbird and Mustang, and you would be very dissappointed if GM didn't do the same for Camaro.
This isn't going to work unless there's critical mass behind this, so don't just say you support the idea, just do it!!!
DO NOT send it to anyone's private or GM e-mail address. Not only is it rude & counterproductive (meaning it could backfire something fierce) but if there is a sudden flood of email to GM's consumer relations site (instead of someone's e-mail), not only will it create a buzz throughout, but also word will get up through the chain, and alot will end up read by higher ups.
This is the tactic used to save the Mustang back in the 80s.
Remember, you are advocating the Camaro NAME, so don't sweat them over the car.

this is what i sent to them! VIVA LE REVOLUTION!!!!!
"my name is jason and i have a concern about heritage. i am sick of living in a world without seeing a new camaro on the showroom floor a the dealer i drive by everyday. i am sick of not spotting them at the local cruise points. and mostly i am sick of the mustang boys taunting and teasing about the next and greatest mustang. i as a camaro owner want to see the name live on. ford knows what it means to perserve the legend of cars like the mustang, and thunderbird and i know that someone over there cares about historic value hince the new c6 corvette, and the up coming bel air, and unfortunatly the FWD impala and malibu. so please dont make the camaro be something i tell my kids about later in life and have them think im some old fogie. and a gm v8 rwd 2+2 will not be driven on my behalf unless it sports the camaro name. BRING BACK THE HEARTBEAT!"

bring back the f body
camara mayhem,,,hear yeh hear yeh (sorry about the proper spelling). i can't even express in words right now what a bummer it was to deal w/ the news of no more f bodies after 2002. i sure hope GM is messing with us and Ford and will bring out a new line of f bodies (rear wheel drive) in the near future.

F-Body still lives
Guys, the Camaro name hasn't vanished, it just went on vacation. The Camaro is due back in 2007. If you go to my website (click on link in bottom of sig) and go to page 6 you'll see the whole article. Kinda long, but perdy kewl. Just to sum up part of it though, instead of being on the same Pontiac platform as the Firebird (yes, THAT name is officially retired) the Camaro will share a platform with the new GTO. Trust me, read the article, interesting stuff!!

Not from the looks of it! The picture on my website was the one from the article, but I've seen other drawings and they look sweet! They are doing sorta the same thing that the 2005 Fartstang did with the retro styling. They are gonna take cues from the Firstgens.....I can't wait to see what they look like!!!
