I have 91'z 305tpi for the past couple of months the SES light has been coming on and off

so yesterdy I scanned it and it said ESC failure

so i figure knock sensor, swap it out and the light stays on the is on all the time now.
I don't want to keep throughing parts at it so any help you guys could me would be great

 

Does the car lose power? It might be a bad pcm.

 

It will lose power sometimes, from a stop is the only time i notice that but it will buck when i'm cruiseing and go to accelerate.

I put another knock sensor on today just to make sure i didn't get a defect but it didn't help

 

Check your fuel pressure...

 

I'll check that monday. I was also thinking about tha EGR sticking closed, because before the light stayed the majority of the time it would come on was when i was coming to stop. My car runs hot, and possibly unrelated, idles under 500 so its real rough.

 

how could i check that without taking the intake off
