A/C update.....semi-urgent!

Okay, I removed the old Compressor, dryer, and orifice tube. Happy to say install went pretty smooth and thanks to you guys who helped me w/ their expertise in the last couple days & weeks.

People said that there might be some metal shavings in the orifice tube and that would mean they are in the dryer and the whole system, well.....the orifice tube was clean. Maybe from the retro-kit that BIG-O did months ago. But the dryer was old, though. So I guess that's good news, right. My system should be AOK with a leak test and refill.

Well here's the "might be semi-urgent" part. I might've stripped the tensioner pulley mount hole. It won't let me tighten it so I can put the belt back on. Does anyone have a spare tensioner pulley bracket? It was dark and it was a one-man show so it may just be that a 2nd person in the light might be able to help me finish the project. <-------Hey you get desperate when you are by yourself and working in the heat all day.

But please let me know if you have a spare tensioner pulley w/ bracket that I could borrow for the time being.

Thanks, Kevin

I got it taken care of, but if he still has one I might take it.

Okay, I put in that PAG 150 oil into the compressor, on all the O-rings, and then the rest into the new dryer. How will I know if there is a leak? Will the green PAG oil show up? I thought the fitting from the dryer to the firewall area was loose because I could feel some air coming out and I tightened it as much as I could. Anything else and I feel is overtightening or could break the hose.

So again, will the green show leaks?
