Kingman Thirdgens Part 3

Kingman ThirdGens will be gathering again today [Saturday] around 4:30-5 p.m. at my place near Eastern and Hualapai.

Kinda hot around noon, so the afternoon will be really nice for a cool evening of grilling and car-talk. Sorry George, no pole dancers this time... It's potluck, so bring a couple things to share, like potato salad, chips, beverages, hot dogs, buns, or whatevers, etc. BYOB, I have ice and coolers. If someone can bring a few folding chairs it would be GREAT! I have like two or three...

ThirdGenners in the Kingman area who want to join in, send me a PM.

Good opportunity to meet knowledgeable Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts, such as Mr. TurboTA, robertfrank, TheScaryOne, and toms84ss.

Re: Kingman Thirdgens Part 3

The Kingman ThirdGens "wrecking crew" roared into the Duck-garage in the late afternoon, avoiding noontime heat stroke. Food and beverages fueled a social circle led by Mr. TurboTA, otherwise known as George, or more fondly "Hulk Hogan, Jr.," as he wowed the crowd with car stories and Firebird lore. ThirdGen's "The Scary one," Tyler; "RobertFrank," Robert; "Tom's84SS," Tom; my son Martin, and Lisa, were kept on the edge of their flimsy folding chairs by George's extremely entertaining views on everything ... giving "Duck" a chance to slip over to the grill that Tom so kindly brought over to avoid the spectacle of raw meat on a plate. Thanks Tom -- Duck leaped at the opportunity to immediately overwhelm the grill with chicken, causing a huge flameup ... I'm sure the neighbors thought the garage was on fire... The end culinary product was pretty laughable, a mound of chicken thighs reduced to something resembling little lumps of smoking charcoal, but inside they were tender, thanks to the wonder of layers of fat giving up their calories to protect the protein within! George continued to wow the crowd, causing several to build-up their appetites by repeating almost falling off their chairs, fortunately, the potluck tuna sushi, potato salad and ummm beverages combined to deaden the taste buds and fear enough for everyone to rush the grill and scoop-up the charcoaled-chicken. Maybe it was the SouthWest marinade, but they were tasty! A few more hours into the evening ... a few more charges at the cooler ... a few more attacks on the grill and the crowd was pumped-up enough to walk the line of parked ThirdGens kibitzing and complimenting. George's immaculate, pristine, mint and very desirable white Firebird is already world-famous and we were surprised to see it out of the cocoon and at the potluck, especially since his GF Lisa's red Firebird got slammed in the quarterpanel by a stupid driver only a couple weeks prior. Robert showed improvements to his Camaro with a great set of lace wheels from George, a custom dash pad and interior pieces; Lisa's Firebird showed it's dented body panel which will be like new soon; Martin's '92 Anniversary Z28 was nice as ever, and Tyler's '87 IROC had some nice LED dash lighting and a soon-to-be fixed left front fender. Tom's road-race Firebird was still sidelined waiting for the new engine to be finished by the builder. Everyone had a great time and we kept it going until after 1 a.m. Look for advance notice next time so more TGO people can attend!

Re: Kingman Thirdgens Part 3

Thanks ED,
For having a super nice gathering take place at your new home!
The food was super, as we are from the beach area of SoCal, we just loved the fresh sushi! I would have kept eating it, but I figured that eating almost 10 pieces, I better leave some for the others.
And yes, the chicken was good.
Although at first, we all thought Robert's car was smokin oil.
It was such a blast being there, talking with everyone, that we couldn't believe it was after 1 am when we left!
First time I have had the car out driving, and there was no one to play with.
Put the baby away, back sound and safe, and went inside after 1:30 am.
It was truely a wonderful night, weather wise, and being with friends.
Nice to see the locals again, all at one place, and seeing Tyler back up in his hometown.
I think we all should show up at one of the local cruise-ins, and hang out together and chat all night again. Now that it's super warm, we can do that every weekend!
I'm sure I can add a couple of miles a month to my baby!

Again, thanks for a super time!

George

Re: Kingman Thirdgens Part 3

The sushi was great! I would have had more, but the chicken and tater salad stole my attention, and when I realized there was still more sushi to be eaten it was well after eleven, and I don't know how raw fish handles sitting out.
I had a great time, thanks much for the invite. Definately gonna do it again the next time I'm in town. Let me know if you want any text on that flyer, I know the mods don't want people to use these forums as a meeting place for clubs, so maybe if someone made an Ezboard or something we could put that address up.
Anyways, this is Tyler, signing off. Peace out.

Tyler,
Just make sure you let us know when you will be back in the area.
I'm sure we can get something going.
Other than that, if you want, you can always come see the homestead where I'm at. I mean, the Trans Am museum.
