Re: Best shop to have transmission rebuilt in Phoenix area??

Have you looked at prices just to order a built one and swap the transmissions? last time I had one rebuilt, I could have purchased and swapped them in the garage for about the same price.

The only transmission shop I've used to do a rebuild is TopGearMotorsports in Tempe. Sean knows his stuff but not sure what his price would be a TH350.

Yea, I'm not really set up to swap it myself...Did call Sean, Did seem like he knows his stuff, but a much higher quote than a couple I got. Thanks for your response.
Has anyone dealt with Denny's Transmission on central ave. or Pete's Transmission on 19th ave.

Talk to Jim at Arizona Transmission Factory
2442 E McKellips (480) 844-0227 in Mesa. He's a bit west of Sean's new shop.

I was hoping to find somebody a little closer to central Phoenix, That's why I asked if anyone has dealt with Denny's or Pete's transmissions.
If I can't find a GOOD shop closer, I will give Jim a call.

Thanks

I can rebuild it. I'm in the process of moving right now, but can do it in about 3-4 weeks from now. Can have it done in a day if it's out of the car. I charge $200 + parts (I go thru a wholesaler that supply's tranny shops throughout the valley. Usual cost of an overhaul kit is roughly about $150+a case of fluid. I charge $300 for labor if I have to pull the tranny out (that includes rebuild labor).

Re: Best shop to have transmission rebuilt in Phoenix area??

Had tranny rebuilt at Denny's transmission on south central ave.
Mike, the owner was great. Did what he said he would do, and for the price quoted.
No more vibration...Tranny never shifted as smoothly as it does now...
Bad converter, cracked gear, sticking tcc solenoid.
All for about half the price of other quotes.
So far very happy with their work, and comes with two year warranty. Recommend
