that's right, the dyno day. I signed up for that one as well. Time to see what I can pull.

The track date in January date looks OK right now.

James, what's better ... spennding $40-$50 to have someone else run your car to WOT for about 2 minutes? Or having the pleasure of taking out an import, coming out of turn four, sideways. :hail: Then nailing the throttle, securing his loss. :sillylol: Road racing = $60, gas = $20, seeing the look on the face of an import being passed on the outside ... priceless.

Well, if it's only Mikey and I ... we will take plenty of video for all to see.

nope, I'd rather race then talk about it I'm in.

The fun per $$$ ratio is better than the dyno. I was hoping for some time between runs but that dyno day looked packed and wouldn't have let me make adjustements, which is the point of the dyno.

That all depends...

I see it says self-tech. I hope rusted out floorboards arent an issue.

A day at the track with your buddies, $60.00. Cooler full of delicious snacks and frothy beverages, $20.00. Falling out of the bottom of your car coming out of turn one, Priceless

Is there an exact date for this yet, or just sometime in January?

what they mean by self tech is that if your car fails and you get hurt don't sue them.

Bring it.

If you want you can borrow the "white stallion" chasis. It'll just a take a weekend to throw you stuff into it. it even has a 9" with 3.70s a detroit locker. I'll even through in the 351 EFI and a GM TPI SD wiring harness for it so you can tune it for me. I replaced the floors and also installed some SFC and a 4-pt rollbar. Of course it is painted white now, but you can see the potential of 350 HP in a 2900 lb car. ;D

Chris, never mind, James answered.

Christian, it will be on December 7th (Saturday)

Everyone: It is advised we go down using the 15fwy. Where do we want to meet to caravan down, and meet with Mike (Megabite) in Escondido? We need to meet him at the "Escondido Promenade", right past where the 15/78 meet, at the W. Valley Parkway exit of the 15 at 6:00 AM. I'd agree to Sonic's (off of Lemon St.), but I'd have to deviate from the 15 alot.

Found something, there's a shopping center with a McDonald's off of the 91 freeway (before the 15 freeway) on the Lincoln Exit (310 Lincoln, south of the 91 freeway). We could meet there 4:30 AM. Easy access to the 91 and then the 15 freeway.

Oh, also ... bring a cooler with your favorite beverages and food. As this track is far FAR from civilazation and there are no resturaunts near by. I believe Mikey will be bringing some and I plan to as well. If you'd like to bring something, please do so. I am sure Mikey and I can accomodate what you bring in our coolers (if you don't have one).

Oh, and if you don't want to race and just spectate, please come along. The registration is for car only, so (from my understanding) it doesn't cost extra to have ahem extra drivers (commonly called spectators).

Been there. Down by El Centro. Old airport used a lot for testing and SCCA. I ran a RX7 there a few times. If you go off, your in the weeds and sage so it will tear your **** up but it's your typical airport runway course. should be nice this time of year weather wise.

I'll be in Indy that weekend for the PRI show.

here's a link from SCCA

Also, for those that might be going to the SC3G meeting, but have nothing planned that day. Come on out with us, then we can all caravan up to the meeting. Maybe **** talk on the way back (via hand helds).

Would it be wise to bump the meeting time a taaaaddd later? Say 6 pm or 7 pm? :hail: Give us time to get up there? We'd be able to watch the video of it.

Oh hey James, I think your distributor and oil sump are on the wrong side of your engine. :sillylol:

The meeting already starts at 6pm, we just start arriving at 5pm and BS out front for an hour. You guys should leave an hour earlier to make sure you make it to the meeting.

That's right, I keep thinking "start arriving at" time. Yeah, if we can leave by 3PM, we should make it by around 6 or 7 PM.

Meeting Spot!

Originally posted by Megabit on LS1.com
... Even took the time to go recon a good meeting spot for those wanting to caravan out to Holtville. The "Escondido Promenade" was a pretty good sugestion. I would say lets meet in the Coco's parking lot right off of I15 at Valley Parkway. Just get off Valley Parkway and turn right and Coco's is on the right. If you are comming east on Hwy 78, Valley Parkway is the fist exit on I15 after transitioning onto I15.

Lets meet at 06:00. My cell is *** *** ****.

I may have a schedule conflict. I have a Christmas dinner party that night, I think it starts at 6PM. I need at least an hour beforehand, and I probably will show up early for more free booze. I guess all that matters is how long it takes me to get from timbuktu to home.

Chris, you can leave early. The track goes green from 9 Am until (IIRC) 4 PM. We (those of us attending the meeting) will have to leave at around 3 PM to make it back up.

Final reminder ... anyone planning on going needs to meet us at ...

how many radios do you have? 2 or 3?

are you guys gonna bleed your brakes the day before, at the track, or the next time you have to replace a hard part ?

The only time I’m really hard on the brakes is coming down the front straight. Buttonwillow is the worst at 3800’ and Willow Springs 2400’ so HAIR with 2350’ shouldn’t be too bad. I have to change my oil tonight so while in rolling around on the ground I will if I have the time.

James, I only have two, but I bought them at Radio Shack for $40, they had a pair for $30 as well.

Hmm, Mike all lathered up in oil and rolling around the floor.
