Hey my back speaker on the right side went out....would I buy 6x9 speakers? Also anyone deal with car audio stuff? and how hard is it to change those back speakers?

Yes, they are 6x9s. Easy to change out, just unscrew the clip for hanging jackets (don't know the name of it), then push the panel up. The speaker is mounted with 2 (or 4) screws, IIRC 9/32. Ask Jason92Z, he deals with stereo for a living.

It could be the speaker, but it could also be that channel in the radio. Good luck troubleshooting it.

Someone mention my name?
Yes, the rear speakers are 6x9 in all years. Like MRZ28HO mentioned, just unscrew the hanger and the sail panel will slide up and out. The speakers are held in by 4 (7mm or 9/32) bolts. Be careful pulling out the speakers since the edges of the mounting sheet is SHARP. I would recomend extending the wires if you are going to add aftermarket speakers, there isnt much slack on the stock wiring (should be included with aftermarket speakers) Use BUTT-CONNECTORS! dont do the twist and tape i so commonly see, the tape gets old, dries up, falls off and you get a short. If you want to test and see if its the speakers or radio thats bad, remove the speaker in question, and use a Volt/Ohm meter to test for "Continuity". If you have it, the speaker is fine and even if it was blown, would still make noise. If you dont have an Ohm meter, use a 9v battery and jumper wires from each terminal of the speaker to its corresponding terminal on the battery. If the speaker pops, its fine. If it fails any of these tests, the speaker is your culprit. If it passes these tests, the radio is most likely the problem. I have a factory Z28 radio if you need one. But Id go aftermarket of course. =)
If you have any more audio/security based questions, feel free to ask, any other stuff, dont trust what I say

Brittney..
Ahh, you are suffering from the famous paper surround. Seeing as your car is almost 20 yrs old, you can imagine what anything made of paper would look like. A decent set of 6x9s that will produce a "little" bass will run you about $69.99 and up. Keep in mind, with the design of our cars, the 6x9s DONT produce ANT bass. Poor design and angle, limit their resonating abilities. I have a set of $249.99 Memphis 6x9s in my car and they produce minimal bass at best. Good for guitar and so forth. I have awsome designs for 3rd gen cars for any of you audio guys (and gals) that are interested. If you havent seen my setup yet, go here... http://www.taskerhost.com/gs3/profil...on_profile.htm I hope that I helped with your questions and if anyone needs my assistance, Im always willing to help. Yes, I knew that the convertibles are 6.5s, but in this case he has a coupe, the comment was aimed towards ALL COUPES!
