Help me to create club in my city

hi
I'm thinking to create thirdgen club in my city and I've talked to some thirdgen owners and they are really interested to make club.
well my questions are:
how to make a successful club?
how get a lot of thirdgen owners to your club?
what can the club offers to the member?
what can people offer to the club?

any help will be appreciated
Ayman

1.) a succesfull club, is a club where you and your members are happy. That doesnt necesarily mean a lot of people, but that the people who do show are happy and pleased with it, at least thats my opinion.

2.)Advertise, invite, make your presecense known to the people int he area.

3.) A place to hang out with fellow liek minded individuals, crusies, barbieeeques, games, all around good fun, doesnt necessarily have to be car related all the time etc..

4.)same as above.

I'm pretty close to you, 30 mins max. I'm kinda new here, as you can see from my post count, so I dunno you all that well, but how serious are you about starting a club?

You're more than welcome to join and be a part of this club. All you need to do is participate in the message board and show up to some of the meetings and gatherings we have.

Then you guys can have get togethers in your area and invite all of us.

I'm really close to you. I live in Riverside area. I also have a friend with a Camaro that would possibly be interested in a club.

As I mentioned before, I'm interested as well, and I too, live in Riverside. Problem is, my T/A needs a lot of work before it's driveable, and not having enough money or knowledge to fix it kind of puts me in an odd spot. I think I'd look pretty funny cruisin' along in a lane full of third-gens in my little Chevy S10.

Seriously though, I'd really like to hook up with some of you guys that are in this area, maybe you could teach me a thing or three.

If any of you want to get ahold of me, just IM me.

I live kinda by March Air Force Base, off Van Buren, sort of borderline MoVal, but it's Riverside. The neighborhood is called Orangecrest.

I'm down for a get together, once I get some money.

Meeting at the Tom's Farms complex

I passed by there yesterday to get a look at the place. It hit me that the complex is pretty big, with a number of buildings.
Where are we gonna park? I would like us to be close to each other, showing off as it were. =)

How about the spot right next to AM/PM. The first Tom's lot right after the AM/PM store. Im driving the Silverado =\, primer grey/black missing front grille.

See you there.

Good job . I wish if I could bring one of my Camaros, my 84Z has no engine or tranny and my 86Z won't start , she has a complicated problem with the ECM.
By the way 91FIREBIRDGT and Ruddigger check your PM.

at GS3's first meeting, there were 5 cars, and stayed that way for about 6 mo, at about the 1 year point, we had a steady turnout of about 10-12 cars a meeting/gathering. We peaked with a gathering at Sonic Burger with 18 cars and about 25 people. GS3 is not around any longer, it ran its course and we all had a good time in between.

I hope this club gets on its feet and lasts a long time. I really enjoyed GS3 and already miss it, its just too bad it went the way it did. Since I am an Inland Empire resident myself, I will help in any way that I can. If I can drag my a$$ out of bed, I will attend your meeting (and from the sounds of it, may be the only 3rd gen there, she aint too much to look at)

Do you guys plan on having a website?

Sorry I didnt make it out, I decided that since the day has been cooler that I would take the time to work on the Z28, flush the cooling system, replace the thermostat, radiatior hoses, clean out the void between the radiator and condensor.

I also recently hit a bird and smashed down a good amount of the fins on my condensor and am blocking much airflow.

If you guys get together again sometime, let me know, I will surely meet up.

Yeah i couldn't make it either, i was changing the tranny fluid on my car, changing the sparkplug wires, and "testdriving" how it performs better. :lala:

f-body 67-02 should be what the club contains.

We already have a club for all f-bodies from 1967 to 2002: http://www.socal-fbodies.org/

There's also the IE F-bodies at http://www.iefbody.org/

Nope, no crime, but how many f-body clubs do we need? There are two already that service both all f-bodies and the Inland Empire, plus this one that caters to all SoCal thirdgens. One more would be redundant. You already know that first hand.

Yeah, sorta redundant like all those people who burn custom proms... just too many, right?! Youd know first hand. If these guys want to start their own club, so be it! But I suppose we always need someone promting the CONS to peoples ideas to complete the "Circle" of things.

Sorry for the late reply, I was out of town. Well, I agree with Kevin and Jason, it is kinda redundant. Yet we have cities like Fallbrook, Temecula, Murrieta, Wildomar, Lake Elsinore, Lakeland Village, Canyon Lake, Sun City, Perris, Corona, Hemet, and Riverside. If we make our club in Lake Elsinore, or within a 10 mile radius, it will be more convenient. Members will be more active in a club close to home. Let's put it this way, there are a lot of people who dislike joining clubs because they are far away. This way we're serving our community better by making a club near by.
Here's a fact, I'm the only member from Lake Elsinore or Wildomar on TGO and I've seen at least 10 nice thirdgen in Elsinore and most of'em are young drivers. Why do we not see'em on this site? The "Inland Empire" club can't draw a presence as effectively as I can here. These other thirdgens don't even know it exists, much less know where to join. A local club here will enlarge our community, with more thirdgens to ask/inform/discuss our camaros and Firebirds.
However, even if we have too many F-Body clubs out there, we all share the same thing. It is our love for F-Bodies and keeping them alive.

Ivan

You dont nessisarily need to start your own club just to get some locals together...Just recruit people in you area and have a weekly gathering in your area(open to all members) but stay under the club name and hang out with your local "branch"...that way we can all come together at big functions and show as one strong club, and have your local gatherings when you dont feel like driving far...Thats what were trying to do in SCV, plus if you start a club with 5 members what are the odds everyone can attend on a certain day-usually you'll get about 3 if your lucky and whos going to take a club seriously with 5 members, only 3 of which show up and any given event...just a thought

I disagree with you. Do you want me to join some other big club? If I did that it would leave out other potential members that cannot travel as far. No club starts up with a lot of members and I know it is going take a while to recruit those numbers. Like what Customx said, a good club does not necessarily mean a lot of people. I have never heard of an Inland Empire F-Body club till Kevin posted it. Why have I not heard of it? I haven’t heard because there is not enough activity in my area. Their promotions, if any, don’t reach out to members of my community. There is nothing wrong in making a local club. I am going to support this club passionately. I am going look into paying for club advertisement on local newspapers, the recycler, and other periodicals. Do you know what the cool part of the whole plan is? It is when we go and challenge other F-body clubs for some friendly races. When we challenge other car clubs and get to show off the power of the F-body. As a local club I can serve my community better than some far off all encompassing club and have fun doing it.
