Paint?

I am located in San Diego and I am in need of some work on my 91 camaro. I just recently got a custom paint job, and some lady crashed into me. So I am looking for a good shop that can do great work especialy with matching the paint up?

I had it done in Santee. I am just looking for another place right now because I kind of hassled them a little bit on getting it done perfect and they got a little frustrated with me. But I wanted it done right so I did not care.

How much did it cost you? I want to get the color changed on my Convertible? Did you have to stay on top of them? Body pros in garden grove is suppose to be good, but htye do mostly imports.

I stay away from all import places. The best places are hot rod shops in El cajon or Santee. Mine cost about 2500.

That's it? Not bad at all. I am going to strip my car completely, before putting everything back in it and will probably do a lot of the prep work myself, but even after telling them that, most places in OC were around $5k for a complete color change and they were backed up 6 months I want to have the paint started in about three months, finished within 5

Ugh..

I think you are looking in the wrong places. Yes it is more expensive to get a color change but 5,000. I would be afraid to drive it after it got painted. And 3 months out that quit a bit of time. You get someone to do it right away. You could go with a big production place that could have it done in a week and guaranteed from 10 yrs to life. I say it would run no more than 3,500.

The places I called ran the gamut from insurance only places to custom shops. I'm not looking for custom colors here, just looking to get my car sprayed lol

y some places cost a lot

Sometimes it cost more cuz of the kind of paint they use. There are different kind of types of paint thats y some cost a lot. I know of a good shop, but it's all the way in Las Vegas. It's my uncle shop. He just painted my 1961 F**d Fairlane. Haven't seen it, but everybody says it's lookin sweet.
Peace Out,

Trying to get my car out to las vegas would be a little hard without the engine

Everyone tha I have spoken with have all said PPG. That's pretty normal. nothing too extreme. There are better paints out there. I know a guy in AZ that would do an awesome job, inexpensively, but getting a hull out to AZ is about as easy as getting it to Las vegas, but I guess I can rent a truck for a few days or something..
