Yes, either cam will work with the stock computer, but for a modified engine to work the best you need to reprogram the chip. I gained 15 horsepower and 12 torque, as well as over 5 miles per gallon, by tuning and reprogramming the chip on my car. Other cars I have tuned have turned in similar results. Trust me, it is worth it, and my prices are very cheap compared to what else is out there.

hey, be more optimistic eric. no one is going to say yes with a question like that. they need times, dates, place, etc. i had someone from these boards help me.

by the way, anyone know how to lift the engine out of the camaro? eric's engine doesnt have the lifting brackets on the front drivers and rear pass. like mine did. what gives?

 

Use intake the manifold bolts. Just take one out in front on one side and one from the rear on the other side. Put a washer on the bolt and put it through the chain link.

 

When pulling the engine, would it be easier to just pull the entire engine/tranny together? Just to avoid having to disconnect the engine from the trans?

 

no it would not. just thinking about how the engine came out of mine, i definenty would be hard with the tranny connected.

anyone actually take the engine out with the tranny???

 

depends on who's doing the pulling.. he is better off removing only the engine and keeping the trans in, be prepared to have all the tools to unbolt the trans.
