Events For 2004......

Okay gang,
I've grown extremely tired of the negative energy and am going to take a step toward the positive.

I will post this at SC3G.org as well.

Let's put together a list of events for the rest of 2004.
1) BBQ - Russ has already offered to get the tri-tip and hand deliver it to our chef extraordinaire, Dwayne. (This is quite a haul for Russ, but he's willing to do it to have a nice event). All we need to do is set a date, time and location.

2) Club Cruise - Kevin has a San Diego (is everyone down south paying attention?) route all planned out. Again, date and time is all we need to set.

3) HSR event - Dean (vsixtoy) has mentioned this. It's an afternoon of watching some good racing with an opportunity to drive the track for $20. More details can posted if people want to check this out.

4) Irwindale Speedway - Brittney has brought this up and the SCFB club does it annually - we can get "Featured Club" status on a Saturday night. This entitles us to VIP parking where we can show our cars, a parade lap before the main racing starts, and FREE seats to watch the racing.

I've been to 2 of these with SCFB and am usually the core of 3rd gen representation along with Lon and Glenn Duensing. We could have an all 3rd gen night. All people have to do is committ to participating. Date is all that we'd have to determine.

5) Racing - Irwindale and Fontana offer drag racing. Do we want to show up in force on a particular date as a club?

Do we want to participate in an auto-x event? This can be done. Again, all we need is people to commit to participating so we can plan.

6) Holiday Dinner - we have done this that last 2 Decembers rather than have a meeting. Everyone that attends has a good time. Let's plan early this year and see if we can top the previous years.

The first year we met at a restaurant near Redondo Beach and did a club gift exchange. Last year we met at Knott's Berry Farm and some of us brought a gift for the Marine Corp. Toy-For-Tots drive. I'd like to see us do some type of similar charity thing again only with greater participation.

We need to decide on a location so we can make proper arrangements ahead of time. Waiting until the last minute doesn't work well for this event.

Anyone else want to add to the list? Please feel free to offer suggestions.

I cant set a date yet, but I am going to have a get together at my new house in the next couple months while the weather is still decent. I can even do it later, but preferably before October. Thats if this Thursday goes as planned without any hitches. Gotta break in the new neighbors somehow

Actually, I thought the turn out for Knotts was pretty good. We filled one table. And free admission to the park with a toy is a good deal.

Please make sure your vehicles are clean and looking sharp as it would be a grave injustice to assemble so many fine vehicles and have a few “showing their age”. Also don’t forget to bring your chairs, E-Z UP’s, or any items that make you comfortable outdoors.

Look for the signs when you enter the park, an actual area of the park has yet to be selected. Picnic areas are strictly on a first come first serve basis. So we won’t know where we will be until the day of.

If you have any questions or this information is somehow unclear, please feel free to contact me either telephonically or via e-mail. See you there!

Well gee guys,
You can always have a road trip out to visit me! Stop off in Laughlin for some gambling too!
We could have a big bar-b-que! There's plenty of free parking, with valet parking for the people who only want the best parking for their pride and joy!
A free trip thru the Trans Am/Firebird museum (which should be open by the end of the month! ), along with a nice clean sandy beach (you know, future beachfront property) to sun yourself!
20 minute drive to gambling and river fun! Prenty of sunshine predicted for any day you choose! Music availible on request.
On ya, free car wash (do it yourself!)!

Just an offer,

George

No,
I mean 20 minutes from my house!
It could take up to 7 hours to get to my house with the way some of you guys drive though!
But, with our speed limit 75 mph here, it shouldn't take that long!
It was just an offer, one that I know no one will take me up on, that's all.
Trying to be nice.

George

Sounds like it would be fun. I could leave the wife in Laughin as she likes the gambling I don't.
There were some fun roads on the Indian land out there, but the golf course is probably in now and more traffic.
Got any 4 legged horses?

Getting 3rd gens that far might require a number of tow trucks.

Yes,
The golf coarse is in!
Home Depot is going to be open in November.
Lisa and me found some really nice twisty roads around here!
yes, even if just one of you comes out and visit, that's fine with us!
And no, you don't even have to bring out your third gens!
Both of ours drove out here with no problems! Yes, I (well, I mean Lisa) drove out the 20th TTA and her '91 Bird!
We are already hitting the car cruises with both every Sat. night!
So peaceful out here!
You have my email, come on out anytime!
Lots of great places to eat, but none quite like Texas Loosey's though! That's why I eat there everytime I'm out there! HeHe!

Just post here, or email us!
Just thought we'd throw this out there for you guys!

Later,

George
