Judging the "size" of the black out I believe that James was acting as the cameraman to snap those pics

Had some good finds at the local PAPs this weekend, managed to actually find the same color seat cover for my 4th gen seats in my Z28 that had a worn out bolster. So for $6.50 I have a pretty new looking drivers seat Also managed to find a newly recovered set of black sunvisors and some other odds and ends

Well finally the new G-Force trans parts showed up today. Just waiting to get them installed along with the 3.70 gears. I will have a new attitude when I hit the track again and it might be on the private track rental day or for the bracket racing day.

My Mufflex 3.50" exhaust system showed up today. That dang Spintech muffler is heavy. Weighs more than all the other parts put together. Got to get another 3.50 inch muffler. Any power gained will be absorbed by the addtional weight of that thing. Bhwahahahaha. Allen

Before the currant rash of freeway shootings, they have had a problem with someone or a group of people shooting out windows in passing cars with pellet guns along the 15 freeway from the bottom of Coajon pass to Barstow. Since Christmas the CHP has been trying to have no more than 1/4 mile distance between cruisers. Now with all of the freeway shootings all over the metropolitan area, they are trying to put the same kind of coverage on all of the freeways in L. A. I've noticed a lot more chp cruisers on the freeways in my job here in the L.A. area. It is probably a good idea to be careful with the right foot right now.

Looks nice! I think an IROC hood might make a nice touch.

Hey is that a classic 76 antenna ball?

Funny you should mention that, I’ve been killing myself trying to decide whether or not to run an IROC hood. But I’ve decided not to. It’s not only a much cleaner look, but it's also extremely unsuspecting.

Good call on the 76 ball, only those in the know understand the true statement it makes. Old school baby, old school!

Hey mike what do you have to dial in? The suspension? Do you have adjustable shocks? I know the suspesion on these thing dont take much to ride on a rail. You just need to know your car but you allready know that. We need to get together and do a late night Glendora canyon run and push the cars that would be bitchen

I was getting a little rub on the inside drivers rear wheel well under load. All it needed was a about ¾’s of a turn on the pan hard and bumping up the Koni’s a hair. I also noticed that the LCA’s made a little noise when the car went lite. I’ll try backing them out a little but I think I might have to replace the rod-end’s pretty soon.

When I had the car aligned last week, the tech that actually aligned the car suggested that I “run around” for a week and then bring it back for a final adjustment. He felt that the amount of negative camber I had him set was entirely too aggressive for the street and that after a week of driving I would realize it and want to correct it. It’s perfect.

No worries about the lawless blasts through Southern California canyons. Canyon running is exactly why I built this car and there will be plenty of opportunities to play in the wee hours of the morning.

I have a few Old school goodies sitting around myself. I used to have two boxes of these antenna ***** 15 years ago. The IROC sew on patches are rare to find anymore but not the antenna ball, 76 still makes them occationally.

I am not going on any cnyon runs and be an accomplice to someone running their car off the road and killing themself trying to hang on with the better handling cars. I would however be interested in the group gathering and trying their skills at a local autox event. I can even give a few ride alongs. Someone pick a date and I'll register and be there. I know we have many that would potentially be there: Ron Brooks, Myself, Glen Duesing(Sp?), I'll just show up again and have fun, its been two years since I first gave this car a shakedown at one of the events. Its kinda boring on street tires, yet I'll show with the camaro if everyone else wants to plan something.

When you and your car can do this then come talk to me Yes I am teasing with you, but I am dead serious about having someone like you try and follow me around a canyon corner and then me get thrown in prison for life for street racing when you kill yourself. That is no joking matter. By the way, That is a full blown vintage GT40 racecar that ran on LaMans back in the 60's and 70's and is running on full race tires. I was on street tires. Study the video and you'll see I actually gain ground on him around that sweeper at Calif Speedway. Once hes straight it takes a split second down the straightaway but he gains control to lay down the massive power he has and pulls away from me down the straight. For an instance you can see I was hanging with him out of the corner because I exited at a faster speed than he did. Someone else "hosted" this video for me. Some say it works and others it doesn't for.

Finally dusted off the 'vert and took it for a cruise up and down PCH yesterday (a beautiful day!). Still running rich, still feels like there's something holding it back, sounds like it has some terrible rod knock. But hey, with the new paint it sure does look nice!

Your right,but
no one said we were gonna race up there. At least I have no intentions of doing that.Besides,I gotta an LG4

Come on out and run the car for fun at Calif Speedway on June 26th. Looks like many of us will be there trying this that day. George Laura has set up an AutoX post with the info.

Why, is yours broken? Check TDS web site shortly for the repair kit.

Sorry, I forgot it would fall off when you turn off the radio (shows ya I don't own a power antenna. I suppose you could glue it to the end and adjust the limit to stop short.

Hey Dean,

I thought you weren't supposed to pass on the parade laps?

That was not a VARA parade lap event like I have posted in the past where I was urging everyone to come out as a club and drive around. This was another event where e were allowed to pay and go out on an open track session on a thurday of a four day weekend event and opporunity knocked. I grabbed the helmet and took the Camaro out for a few laps. I was out there that day in the Corvette running down the straight at 160. I believe that was a TCRA event we showed up for to tech the Vettes and do a shakedown on some new work we did on it. My father arranged it and got the Vette out there for me to run(long story, but he stores the car and pays for it, I just drive it. Not as often as he would like to see though- it was his originally and I gave it back to a few years back him after too much family BS. I owned it and raced it for about 15years). There was some other traffic out there running a novice session so I registered and took the Camaro out for practice. The GT40 jumped out and ran a few laps and I tucked in behind him going into the infeild after he passed me into the entrance of the bank 1-2 turn the bank at about 130 (he was slowing into the bank from the straight and I was still gaining any speed I could from the start of the straight an increasing going into the corner.

An earlier parade lap seesion I did that year with another GT40 and a full race A/C I was able to get to 132 on my handheld GPS under the seat. I had no helmet on and wasn't suppose to be over 85 that day. I got in trouble for that one. The shot sequence I have posted in the past of me taking down a BMW M# off the high bank was the same TCRA event I drove the Vette also. It is the same video footage my brother sent me clips of.

James, You can see here the traffic we had just passed coming out of chicane 3-4. Look in the video, you can see how much and how fast they lag back from our pace. It wasn't a parade lap partner.

so are you saying that:

A) Your V6 camaro is faster than a GT40
B) Your V6 Camaro handles better than a GT40
C) Your V6 camaro is equal to a GT40 in performance
D) You were a better driver than the GT40 driver
E) You and the GT40 were truly racing
F) The GT40 driver was taking out the rare and expensive car and just wanted to have a good time driving 6/10 until he saw some camaro try and show him up and then a quick stomp on the go-pedal put an end to that

I have seen many Ferrari's and Lambo's run at Willow Springs but only once did I see the driver drive it any harder than he would on the a offramp.

James, dry your eyes and wipe you ***. i think the video speaks for itself. Got a grudge with me? then challange me. Don't know what your probleem is with me but you have a big mouth for such a little guy and also for someone who this entire clubsd says can't drive with sh*t and has Mike do everything for you.

See ya around real soon partner. I'm easy to find and challange. I'll leave any other comments for the track.

Well you still didn't answer my question. The video is pretty poor quality and shaking is pretty horrific. Your Camaro has a lot of suspension mods and I don't doubt you have skill as a driver. I just don't think your portrayel of the GT40 story is being intellectually honest. That is why I posted the question.

I don't know why you have to go into insults with "big mouth for such a little guy" but you definitely have an inferiority complex and should probably work on those issues. What has Mike done for me? What Mike has done, he has done for himself. What I have done, I have done for myself. I don't ever recall Mike being there any time I went to Willow Springs or Buttonwillow. As far as driving skill are you talking drag racing, RR, or ??? If my drag racing skills are so bad then why did I get into the 12's years before most others here?
