Chrome Plating
Can anyone recommend a chrome plating shop in the So. Cal area to chrome plate a set of 16" Iroc rims? Looking for quality and a reasonable price.

Wheel Concepts in Newbury Park(the Thousand Oaks area), right off the 101. www.wheelconcepts.com $450/set for 16" wheels. Center caps are an extra charge, but in some cases can't be chromed. Here are my stock Formula wheels. They did an excellent job! Ask for Glen.

Do you know if they do repair work as well? (minor dings, curb rash) I need to get my rims replated eventually, but they also need some minor touch up work. $450 doesn't sound too bad, and your wheels look good!

Thanks guys. I called Glen and passed-on your compliments. Wheel Concepts deserves the credit. I also asked him about repairs.
Most minor nicks and curb rash would likely be eliminated during the early polishing steps. But more severe areas might need aluminum, which would be an extra charge. So to answer your question, drop-top IROC, yes, they can make repairs, if necessary.
My wheels didn't have any curb rash, so I don't know what the allowable severity of that would be. But one wheel had a gouge in the lip from when I hit a rock on Angeles Forest Highway. Their polishing steps, though a little more than normal on that spot, smoothed it nicely, and it's almost impossible to find. So if they can polish out that, I'd think most imperfections, at least, most curb rash, can probably be cleaned-up without any additional charges.

I believe there's an additional charge of approximately $35 if your rims are already chrome plate. Basically to strip off the existing chrome. Anyone ever deal with replating rims?
