thirdgen ads
Are they slowly putting more and more ads in every thread. Before it was just at the homepage and on the right hta i noticed them. Now i see them everywhere. In between posts and now there's a pemanent google bar. Did i never notice these or are they just advertising the s**t of this site now?
they're slowly adding, googlebar wasn't here yesterday. As far as the ads on the right, seems like there's 1 or 2 more. I tend to ignore them but the fact the graphics change on the ads makes them kinda annoying.
But the googlebar is actually kinda good, let's people search more easily

The only google ads that members should be seeing as of right now are four simple links on the main pages under the navigation menu.
If you see other google ads it's because i have to insert them and then put the IF statements so that only non members see them
And yes that google search is clutch for quick searches and taking a load off the server.

i feel honored an administer posted in my thread but i still feel the orginal thirdgen was more user oriented where now its more geared for advertisers with the ads all over the place. It's like walking aroung a showroom with a clear breifcase of money. Salesmen keep coming at me. I guess i'll just have to get used to it. I still think 3rdgen is the best tech forum ive been apart of.
Well even the old forum had advertisers and thier images were poor, BUT they were very Third Gen oriented. We took ownership of thirdgen as a profit venture, thus far it has cost us more money through server cost and hours and hours of employee labor to make it what it is.
We held off as long as we could and even tried getting other thirdgen oriented advertisers for a minimal price. All said and done we needed to find a way to generate some sort of revenue (not even profit at this point) from thirdgen.
We have done our best to not disrupt members with ads. At the same time we hit non members with so many ads that they look towards signing up as an alternative. So it really does benefit everyone involved.
Also, without the work of talented web developers like myself we wouldn't have really cool features like SEO, the gallery, and vbgarage with all that JS jazz. Or maybe you would but in the past if something went wrong it did not always get fixed in a timely manner.
