irwindale tonight?
anyone going? it will be my first time there, any tips or things I should know about this track? Im really worried about hooking with my new tires (kumho 712s) should I even bother warming them up or just skip the burnout box. If anyone is going look for the white iroc.
Justin, I don't drag race so others here know a lot more about it than me; but I've read that only the drag slicks should be warmed up. They are made to be sticky when hot. Street tires have compounds made for long life and durability. I think if you burn out on a street tire, all you accomplish is to wear down your tires and make them grip less. Street tires grip best when cold, or mildly warm.

First run ok, second horrible wheelspin, third hooked up pretty good. this is what my best timeslip reads;
R/T .803
60' 2.034
330 6.002
1/8 9.287
MPH 74.54
Excuse my horrible r/t as this was my first time at the track actually racing, but I think 60 ft is pretty good for street tires. Overall had fun car was running a little hot due to traffic on the way there. On the way home I had the coolant hose that runs to the TB burst on me. Fixed her up and shes ok now thankfully it happened within 5 minutes of coming home
