Throttle Cable length?

I have a 1984 Pontiac Firebird 305 LG4. I don't have the original Rochester E4ME carb, but the Edelbrock 600cfm #1604 carb. What is the proper length I should use for the throttle cable? My old one has seen better days and thinking of replacing it? Since this car isn't stock when I purchased it, I simply don't want to go by what is under the hood. What should be the proper length for these things? I'm at RockAuto and they have a wide range of lengths between the camaro and firebird. Were they routed differently depending on year and model? What lengths do people use here for the optimum result? Appreciate anyone's feedback as I want to order the parts tonight.

Re: Throttle Cable length?

30" should be the OE answer. It appears the original cable will be very hard to find!!
you can purchase a Lokar OR similar cable. Very easy to install. your choice of routing. gives you a performance LOOK.
