Gas prices and practicality are making me decide to sell my trans am. But Don't know what is a fair price to ask for it. So thought I'de ask all you guys and hear your thoughts. overall condition of if is great, aside from the carpet being faded it's all in nice shape. Paint shines extremly good and body has no dents. Runs and drives great.
Heres a picture of it let me hear your opinions

$3500
Re: What do you all think is a good asking price for my Trans am
Now is probably not a good time to try to get top dollar. With gas at $3.00+ per gallon, most people are going to want to buy some econobox to save on gas. Your car may be worth $3500.00-$4500.00, but with today's gas prices expect to have trouble unloading it for more than $2500.00.

Would be nice if it wasn't for these high gas prices. Been rough on me commuting 100 miles a day in the car. I honestly have thought about finding a nice 4 cylinder firebird 82-84. I used to have a 84 4 banger camaro many years ago.
Probably will spend a little time detailing the car and probably just sell it for a lowend price and use it for a down on something easier on the pocket.
Wonder if prices will drop below 3.00 a gallon again

Definitely not going to get much interest from someone looking for a daily driver, but you might find someone who wants it for a weekend hot rod.
High gas prices haven't stopped people from paying top dollar for 1st gen F-bodies.

I have a bridge to sell you if you think a 4 cylinder hauling 3600 lbs gets better gas mileage than a 305 TBI or TPI engine.

As for the car's value, you could probably post it for about 4-5K on Auto Trader and then go from there. I would say 3K is fair for members of the board here.

I don't know man. I had a 84 4 banger camaro with a 4 speed manual and it always got high 20's to low 30's on freeway. but never fell under 26 or so on average fill-ups. Problem is I know a 305 is halfway decent with freeway friendly gears. However I have a 350 5 speed 373's ... It generally holds at about high18's to mid 19mpg average on fill-ups. gridlock driving etc.

Yea will probably miss it. I deon't deny that but I have my corvette for the weekends to. I'm going to detail it really good this weekend and put a sign on it for 3,500 and see what happens.
On a side note any 3rd gen get togethers happening this weekend?
