How is everyone?
Hey everyone!
It's been a long time since I've posted.
Hope all is well. My IROC is still alive but hasn't seen much action lately.
I'm working for FLIR now. My projects involve creating markets for Infrared cameras on Boats and vehicles.
Don, how's your back?
Kevin, hows married life?
Chris, is that a pict of your kid?
Bret, you married yet?
Seams like the only way I'm gunna get to see you folks is if I host a BBQ.

Finally figured that out did you.
Hows it going Dwayne.
Chris and I have had quite a year. Not one of the better ones so it can only get better.
Ran a 13.4 at 100 at LACR earlier this year. Some day I might get enough power to get that car to hook up.

Re: How is everyone?
Tom, Chris clued me in.
Good to hear your still pounding the pavement
Don, Keep kickin buddy
Kevin, I saw the posts and went looking for the fastest list update ;-)
Glad the Married life is good for you. How's the Job front?
Bret, Los Alamos is great. I'm now the president of the Cemetery board. So far I have had zero complaints from the customers. Cam is still shooting and took third at this years state finals. He raised a pig this year to show and sell at the county fair. That was an interesting learning curve. He made $1k for his efforts even after paying me back for the food and original proce of the pig. He named it Pigzilla even with my suggestions of CHP, Honey baked, and others. I think next year we won't name it and just give it symbols like $/#.
I'm motivated now to take the IROC out and get my fix of smoldering rubber.

A few people got new bests, but I'm (Don is) still building my new engine.
The job is great. One of the best jobs I have had. I get to work with car parts and I dont have to get my hands dirty installing them!
But the bad part is, not every caller has a small block Chevy. So I'm learning...

Dwayne, good to see you're still around and with an f-body. So many of the old timers from Tom's old club seem to have moved on to other cars (usually suv's) that it seems there are not a lot of us left. We need another tri-tip BBQ, but I'm so busy this summer that I don't know when I would have time to make it to one! I thought when I retired last year that I would be a "man of leasure." I don't understand how I had time to work before!

Re: How is everyone?
Russ - I still have that clubs sticker on the IROC. How's that california IROC rebiuld doing?
Kevin - New motor?! Is your Z your daily driver?
I'm commuting in a 94 E320 MB I got for $4K but I've been on the look out for a 4 banger 3rd gen to commute in. I'm guessing they get 25mpg or better.

I didn't realise you were looking for a 4 cylinder 3rd gen. There was a guy here in So Cal trying to sell a 4 cylinder Camaro about 1 year or so ago.

Yes my car is my daily driver, but that doesnt mean I cant build up something for it in the background. Its going to have a lot of hand-me-down and experimental parts on it, so I can run faster than Vincent and still get 25 MPG.
Dwayne, forget about a 4 cylinder Camaro. They only came in 82-84's, and they dont have enough power to move 3600lbs effectively. If you want gas mileage, a nice 91-92 TBI/LB9 car would get 25+ MPG and still have enough power to be fun.

Re: How is everyone?
The SC3GFB sticker on the rear bumper of my Camaro still looks great. The car hasn't seen the inside of a garage in about 3 years.
I guess the vertical orientation of the sticker and keeping the car parked under a huge pine tree helps protect it from the UV.

Re: How is everyone?
Kevin, it seems to me if I remember correctly, that your dad got the best mileage I've ever heard of from a Third Gen when he put the tpi on his Rs while still running the peanut cam in that 305.

Re: How is everyone?
Tom also got a UV laminate on those when he had them made. Without serious direct sunlight on them, they hold up pretty well.
Re: How is everyone?
Whats up!! Remember me?? Last time I was up there one of my buddies slid his Camaro SS into a ditch in front of your house and you had to get your trunk we we pulled him out. Dang those slippery streets!!
So when is the next BBQ at your place? Same address? Hehehe.
