This Saturday, October 6th, will be our bi-monthly meeting at Ricky and Ronnie's Diner in Torrance, CA.

The meeting officially starts at 6pm, but we start gathering around 5:30pm to hang out, talk, and admire each other's cars. Dont worry if you think your car isnt presentable. This isnt a car show, its a way to meet the faces behind the names on this board.

If you have something you want to bring for show and tell, then please do. Keep in mind you will have to show it and tell us about it, so dont be shy. (That means you Mike )

The meeting usually wraps up around 8pm, then we go next door to the restaurant and have dinner.

Mike is now post-op. Just 1 or 2 more surgeries and he will be a total woman on the outside as well as the inside.

 

I'd like to go, but I don't know if the camaro will be running that weekend...

And I would REALLY hate to show up in my g/fs honda for fear of mass ridicule...

I don't think driving the Camaro will protect you from mass ridicule. Just park the Honda out of sight so nobody swipes it's engine to use as a starter-motor.

ive been wondering if you guys still met up there...how many 3rd gens usually show up?

 

We dont care what you drive to a meeting, just show up and meet everyone.

We usually get 10-15 thirdgens and 15-20 people.

 

I want to attend, this is my first time going and want to know what to expect. I will be attending if I can, I love that place.

 

It's a little intimidating the first time, everyone else seems to know each other and you're the new clown at the circus, but everyone is very friendly and some of them know way too much about these cars, and need to get a life.

Sounds good, I planned on taking my wife and daughter to eat their anyways, this is our favorite diner of all. While being there I might just check out everyones rides and ask for some tips, I was going to sell my Iroc but after seeing the people that actually came to look at my car I opted to suffer financially 1 more month until Nov. to get back up on my feet.

Mike usually waits until after the meeting to show.

 

Here I was trying to be a good boy and not respond in an effort to keep the madness to a minimum. But all this talk about Kevin and rear ends has me dripping with curiosity…

You guys keep it up and you’re going to force me to rock the sheer white biker shorts I ordered out of the ‘husky’ section of the Sears catalogue. …and when I wear the spandex, baby oil is always close by…

 

Should make for an interesting meeting this Saturday.

Sounds like we're in for some wild entertainment, I just want to make sure I'm not sitting in the "Splash Zone".

 

Please bring a wide angle lens as I plan on bringing an amazing little vessel for show and tell along with instructions on how to tend to that scrumptious little man in the boat and the importance of maintaining a full mast.

Ok, the Laguna Beach and West Hollywood meeting is NEXT Friday. Try to remember the difference.

 

I'm planning to be there, but my cars may have other plans. We'll see. Should be enough wheels around here... Maybe a bicycle would be better.

 

It's been a year since I sold the 'vert, maybe I should come by and just say hi.
It's not like I'll get sucked back into wanting another third gen....right???

 

My wife is going out of town so if I get home from work at a decent hour I just may grab her car and show up. Its rare I both am not racing that day and have access to her Camaro. We'll see what tomorrow brings with my workload. I have been wanting to check out Ricky & Ronnies. Its around my old stomping grounds- I grew up in Carson and was around Torrance and PV alot in my younger days.

Show and tell- I got a perfect imprint of a hip, leg and foot from a dead motorcycle rider in a fender I could bring- or the v'ed tailgate he broke his neck on. That alone will keep everyone off a bike for a few days. Can anyone tell I am still pissed.

So much for that idea. I just got home 30 mins ago (7:20ish). Not this month. Its just too far away fior me to get to Torrance from Orange at a decent hour.

 

Yeah it is a bit of a drive from where we live. Coming home I was going the wrong way on the 405. Once I started seeing Hollwood I was like oh man Im heading North.

Well I hope everyone had a pleasant evening, Sorry I had to skip dinner I had to get home I was pretty tired and had a long day. Been a long time since I been to a meeting. So other than that everybody finish building those Cars already. We have to tackle Vincent pretty Good.

 

For once we had more Camaros than Firebirds. I counted 19 people.

Great to see everybody again, it’s about time Camaros outnumbered the birds!

I was happily motoring down the freeway minding my own business when this smoking little dime piece in a GTA pulls up next to me and pats the gas. No sooner than I could look over at her she goes deep into the throttle and starts to pull away. So I’m thinking that it would be totally useless to try and catch this little vixen with me only having a little 305 and all. Well my ego got the best of me so I cut over four lanes and proceeded to ring out my little motor in a feeble attempt to catch this GTA. To make a long story short, I caught, passed, and put distance on this little girl. But wait, don’t GTA’s have 350’’s and the only lifting that was don’t was by me when I couldn’t see her anymore.

All in all a great meeting. There was one downside, someone drooling so bad the pavement was wet.

I woke up yesterday and realized that my leg was black and blue and scratched beyond recognition. You wouldn’t happen to know where I could pick up a rape kit would you?

 

How does carrying your own whips and barbed wire qualify for a rape kit.

 

I think someone else needs one of those kits too.

 

Yes, an hour on the battery charger and the GTA fired right up. It still dies every time I put it into gear (Kevin, HELP!) but runs pretty well otherwise.

By the way, anyone find the tread from the Camaro's tires? (the 4th gen) I musta misplaced the tread, because it seems to be missing this morning. Only the rears though, I just don't know where it could have gone. I coulda swore it was there yesterday morning...

new to the forum but i would love to go down to ricky and ronnies, meet you guy and check out more third gens... when is your next meeting?

 

We meet the first Saturday of every even Month. Our next meeting at R&R is our annual Christmas dinner meeting. Some of the members will spend the morning at California Speedway in Fontana racing their cars at the Street Legal drags.

Meeting starts a 6pm. However people show up before that and chit chat in the parking lot. Bring around $20 if you are going to partake in the Christmas dinner.
