my iroc ran out of gas... now it wont start or idle unless i hold the accelerator. fuel pump primes and i changed the filter which was already new. any ideas??

 

Get a fuel pressure gauge on the rails and see where the pressures at.

 

When mine did that the fuel pump needed to be replaced because it overheated without the fuel to keep it cool. Since then I never let the tank fall below 1/4 full.

 

What is your fuel pressure?

 

update: went to start the car and... it fired right up! drove it from my buddies house to mine and now it wont fire. still have to hold the gas for it to run and it gave me a code 45. its running rich so i know its not the pump but i still havent checked fp(dont have a gauge). pulled the plugs and they were all pretty much wet with gas. could it be leaky injectors? how could i check with out pulling the fuel rail and buying expensive tools (I have a multimeter).
