Your new nightmare
My Frankenstein engine is slowly coming together. Its been built with parts from various other engines and thirdgens.
Allen's Trick Flow heads
Vincent's Lunati cam 226/234, .565/.575 lift with 1.6's, 113 lsa
My original shortblock, still a standard 350
New set of Dyno Don's headers
Jerry's special-ported intake manifold flowing 315 cfm
Jerry's special-siamesed SLP runners
Since Vince made 340 RWHP with this cam and his heads, I'm hoping for 341 RWHP.

Looks good! Why is it though you have two different kind of rocker arms on the heads?

Re: Your new nightmare
The blower on my Yukon is the same situation...no number, but when given another comanies #, it breezes through smog. I believe the sniffer should determine if it passes or not, who cares about numbers.
Good luck with the new powerplant!
Posts like this get me a little more motivated to find a clutch for my Camaro so I can drive it again!

Re: Your new nightmare
well duh, an 8.5:1 compression, 48# injected engine isnt exactly a good setup.
now If I had high compression, and proper injectors, sure. But why build an engine N/A? I wanted to go fast..

So, this title,
is it for most HP, or for the quickest 1/4 mile, or the most smak-talk?

Quickest 1/4mi and smack talk. The smack talk backs up the 1/4mi times.

So if someone beats your 1/4 mile time, you'll be racing your mouth as a back-up? I KNOW it doesn't pass CA emissions, the exhaust is foul!!

You better be in front of me, you have at least a 3 year head-start on me in third-gens, unless you want to run one of my "other" vehicles...
Yea, I didn't think so.
And getting ahead of you is no guarantee of clean air, as both ends seems to expel noxious gasses!

This is a local board, so if you're not in CA, you need to find your own local friends to heckle, if you can find some that are literate.
Besides, if we didn't have to pass CA smog, we'd roll you up and smoke you with a Briggs & Stratton between the fenders. ANY dork can go fast and not pass CA smog with a small block Chevy.
Only 9's? it must be a V6... LOOOzzzZZErrrr!!

[QUOTE]Sounds like street racing words to me. You need a reality check. Once I get the car back on the road, it's on and crackin'. If you can't hang there, we'll take it to the track. Oh by the way, bring a video camera so you can watch yourself over and over again getting your a$$ kicked.

Re: Your new nightmare
As TA said, this is a rivalry between SoCal people you've stepped into. Our cars are daily drivers, get 20+ miles per gallon, put down 300 HP to the wheels, run 12 second ET's, and most important, we pass CA's tough smog test. If you dont fit those criteria, then you cant play.

Of course, we had it running just fine before, but as soon as I started filming, the engine got stage freight.
About 10 seconds into the video, the engine starts and runs. Open headers are fun!!
Sorry for the small size, my camera defaults to small and I forgot to change it.
