Had a three-day weekend, so I spent some time on Saturday and Monday working on installing my Northern Pro race radiator. I have to say, having the A/C system pulled from the car makes it a lot nicer to work up front.

I removed my old small trans cooler and installed a larger one I've had sitting in the box. I also ditched the factory tubing for the power steering return and installed my power steering cooler. Made a nice bracket for the two, so they are mounted much better than my original trans cooler was.

Next step is drop in the radiator and hook everything up. After that, it's just figuring out how I'm going to fab up the upper bracket and get the fans back in. I'm also waiting on a couple parts from JEG's.

 

Phase 2 complete.








Now I've got to fab up an upper mounting bracket and top mount for the fans.

 

Very nice! Nice ideas if I have to do the same for mine. I love the red hose/cover for the upper hose.

Is there some sort of rubber gasket between your upper rad mounts and the rad? Looks good otherwise Bret. If you don't have rubber in there, I would reccomend getting some in there. You can use some of that rubber electrical tape used by electricians for high voltage splices, It is about 1 inch wide, so it would not even be visible under the upper brackets.

Yes, there is some gasket material in there. I picked up some rubberized-fiber gasket material at Pep Boys and cut strips to fit under the brackets.

Car runs a little cooler than with the stock radiator and you can really hear the new cold-air intake pulling in air.
