sad day for me

a tragedy happened over the weekend. On saturday night i was getting on the 210 when i hit a wet spot from the rain and slid into the wall. now granted i might have been going a little faster then i should have, but thats beside the point. anyway the damage to the body wasnt to bad but i messed up the suspension pretty bad. i busted my left front rim and bent up the suspension in the front and the rear axle is also bent.

The good news is i was ok and i limped home with my tail between my legs and as i speak the suspension is being repaired.its a good thing i still had my stock rims and tires so i threw those on, even though their warn, its only temporary. im going to have to live with the body since i will not be able to afford to fix it now. so far the cost of repair is at $1727.

This was the first time i crashed. and hopefully will be that last.

Any pictures? I would go to a junkyard and grab the suspension. Seems like it would be a lot cheaper.

I didnt think to take pics until after i took it to the shop. I know i could probably get it fixed cheaper but i know it will get fixed right, id rather have done right then cheap.

Hey Klawson, try Pick-a-Part in Ontario, they seem to always have a few 3rd gens there if u need parts. Later.

Re: sad day for me

Sorry to hear about the wreck Kevin. I learned that lesson the hard way years ago too when my nearly bald tires, a little excessive speed and a big puddle of water don't mix. I not only had to fix the car but also pay for about 40' of city fence. Glad you're ok. The real tragedy would be not learning from the experience, don't mess around on wet roads! Good luck with the repairs.

Re: sad day for me

The biggest problem with the first rain of the season or a rain storm after months of dry weather is that the puddle is probably not water. The rain raises the oil out of the pavement that has soaked in for months and the first rain gives you a nice coat of oil floating on the water! Sorry to hear about your accident, but glad you're ok. I hope you can fix your car completely soon. It was really nice.

Re: sad day for me

i made a mistake and accidents happen but ill defently learn from that.
on the bright side, I already got my car back and all fixed up it ended up being $1013(about 700 less then quoted). i just have to replace the rims and fix and repaint the body. so at least its drivable now. it just doesnt look the way it use to.

Re: sad day for me

Klawson,

Sorry to hear about your situation. It happens especially, as Russ noted, during the the first storm so glad you didn't get hurt and that the car isn't worse.

bdb1980,

Welcome to the board. Best thing to do is post a new thread and I'm sure you'll get the answers your looking for.
