Subframe connectors
Subframe connectors
I have no experience welding so I have to have them done, but was wondering where I should take my car to get them done. I have a local muffler shop that will do it, or should I go somewhere else? Somewhere around the Ontario area would be great.
Thanks

Re: Subframe connectors
where are you in ontario?
I have to figure this out too. Whereever you go, make sure they have a DRIVE ON LIFT. I was considering a muffler shop also, but they usually spend all day welding fairly thin material, i havent decided if i want to go to one yet....

I'm actually in Ontario california. But yeah that was my reason for not necessarily wanting to go to a muffler shop. The shop does have a drive on lift, but I want these to be done right so I don't have to worry about them.

Go to someone that has done the install. Drive to Dyno Don if you have to. Trust me, don't just go to any muffler shop.

Re: Subframe connectors
I would take it to a welder that does frame repairs on cars (yellow pages).
Stay away from the muffler shops!

Re: Subframe connectors
The reason to go to someone who is familiar with our cars is that it is essential that the car is straight before the subframe connectors are welded in. A mistake with the lift, or the use of the wrong lift can put a twist in the body which is the frame. Weld subframe connectors into a twisted body and the twist is going to be permanent. You also need to be certain that there is no body damage that might have cause it to be less than straight for the same reason.
