Great day at Pick-a-part Millikin!

Well i went to the 50% off day yesterday at the Millikin pick-a-part and had a great day!

Besides the 6,000,000,000 people that were there, it was awesome. The day after Christmas i went searching for some interior a-pillars and found both sides in perfect condition(they are now in the car). But while i was there, i stumbled across an 82 Trans Am... Had a disc brake rear end in it!

I was assuming that once i got into the junkyard at 9am yesterday that it would have been gone. I practically ran to the car and the rear end was still there! Someone had pulled the diff cover off of it and looked like they wanted the 3rd member out of it but they didnt pull it.

Long story short on that, i bought the ENTIRE rear end, including the sway bar, calipers, rotors, brake lines etc. for $60!

While me and my buddy were working on getting the rear end out of that car, my fiance went wandering around. She came running back only a minute after she walked away. She came back saying "i found a bumper!" I went to look at what she found and sure enough, an 88 TA with a nice looking front bumper on it. She started wrenching on the bumper and by the time the rear end was out of the 82, she had the bumper off the TA and we were on our way.

I ended up spending a total of $117 for everything i bought.

-rear end
-bumper
-fender vent
-2 misc. plastic pieces for her dads truck

I google'd the number on the rear end and it came up with Posi 2.77 rear end. Perfect for now! New bushings are being delivered and i will be installing it tonight!

Sounds like you had a really good day. If I ever had my wife in a junkyard (yeah, right), she might tell me there was a car over there with a something or other on it along with a few thing-of-a-bobs too. Any fiance that can correctly identify an 88 TA bumper and take it off by herself is most definitely a keeper!

That is exactly what i said the first time she took the bumper off the car when we first got it!

Thats the reason that she is my fiance now, rather than girlfriend.

I found me a girl that owns a 68 impala, a VW Manx and is currently driving the 87 TA.
