Hey Everyone,
I was wondering if I can get ur guys opinion on this, I had a 84 Camaro with some 92 16in Camaro wheel. But the thing they are painted factory white. I think they look okay but I am thinking of going chrome
I called this place I see everytime I go to work it is off the 22 freeway heading to Santa Ana
Anyways I called them and they give this price
$400 for the set all 4 wheel but they will be triple chrome
Do u guys think this is a good deal or not
Thanks for ur advice

There was a guy on craigslist (Orange County) who had a set chrome and clean too for $245. I offered $200 and he declined. I stl have his e-mail if you want to contact him. I'm not sure if he still has them but it's worth a try. He had many adds, seems like he owns a wheel shop. My 91 wheels are getting refinished at New Year Metal in Santa Ana as we speak. Let me know if you want the guys email.

Let me know if you want the guys email. For lettin me know but I think I am gonna have to stay with what I got. I know I am gonna have to pay some more but I think I won't have much space for another set of wheel. Well that is what my mother tells me. Since she gives me money to fix up my camaro and help me from my dad who wants to sell it, but she will never let that happen
Anyways I talked with my mom and she allow me to set it to be chrome but I have to get the 84 Z28 wheels I got over in my place over in Adelanto. That way when I send over my wheel to be chrome I can have another set to move my camaro around.
So yeah by the first week of June I should go and get my wheels and send this off to be chrome.
I can't wait to see how everything will turn out
Thanks for ur advise guy
sounds like a good deal to me... i just talked to a local chrome plating shop in st paul mn and they wanted 200 dollars a rim that was just an estimate which could be less could be more 9 out of 10 times its more... my tires are shot so are the rims so im just gonna save for new rims and tires and see if a tire shop will work out a good deal with me..

chrome is less work.. MUCH less work, and it may cost more, but how many chrome 91-92 wheels do you see? none. yes theres a set of billet aluminum but those are over 1000 dollars and technically are not chrome. Originally Posted by JMR

id love to see those chrome, theyre one of the camaros nicest set of wheels, right behind the IROC single stripe.

Wow $200 per wheel, I think they must do great work for that price or unless it is what they usually charge for a wheel.Usually I am surprise at what someplaces charge to do chroming. Also I wish u luck on ur search for tires and wheel, my friend told me to get the IROC wheel, the 18in version. I did though about it but I have not room to store another set of wheels, so I perferred to chrome this and keep it simpleOriginally Posted by zachkuby87

To be honest JMR I have not seem these wheels polished. Or unless I have and didn't know the difference. Plus I don't see any of these wheels chrome. I think it would be really nice to see them chromeOriginally Posted by JMR

Yeah I know what u mean, once I went to the junkyard with my dad and I saw the chrome version of the wheel I want to chrome, I have to say WOW they looked really nice. To bad I couldn't bring them, it was missing a piece of metal around the lip of the wheel so it was not worth it. That's is where I got the idea of chroming my wheels. I was gonna chrome them earlier but I though this shop I was gonna take them to closed but I guess I was wrong they were open the whole time, they told me they just change the banner they had outsideOriginally Posted by Ca[maro]88

Also the reason I want to chrome this wheel is because I have 3 factory white painted wheel and 1 silver color wheel. And plus my camaro been black exterior, I really don't see how it looks okay together, so I perferred going chrome to give it that better image to my camaro. Well that's what I have seen with black camaro/firebirds with chrome rims

Another idea would be, once your chrome those bad boys up.
You could then paint either the inside portion of the rim black to contrast the chrome. Or the inside stripes that circle the rims. It would also go with the actual exterior paint of the car also..
Then you would have chrome 91-92's and the paint to match that car...
Just addin' a little spice to your decision

I honestly really dont like chrome wheels especially the 91-92 wheels chromed. I think they look 1000 times better polished. Also if your going to spend all that money to get them chromed, just buy new aftermarket wheels such as 17's. It will look cool, help with handling, and allow you to get bigger brakes in the future.
You do have a black car and chome does go well with black but my feeling stay the same on the 91-92 wheels. Just mask off the ones you have and repaint them with a black trim to match the car or the stock silver. I did that with mine and it worked out very well. (mine were red)
Now I have Zr1's and love those wheels. There was a chrome set for sale on ls1tech not to long ago. 17x9 front and 17x11 rear. That would look sick on your car!

Thanks GooseMan on your opinion on what I should do. I was thinking of painting the white parts of the wheels to black or keep it silver.Originally Posted by thegooseman

I am not much a fan of anything over stock size wheels (15 or 16in). I did though about getting some 18in IROC wheels but I was not sure it is what I would of like. When I installed the 92 wheels on my camaro man I fell in Loved with them, but I think that they we missing something. So after seen some chrome ones in the junkyard I didn't though it would be a bad idea to have some for my camaro
In fact I like the ZR1 but from the 2010 Corvette and that's all. I have not seen the one you are talking about but if u say they look nice I bet they do
Okay guys so how I layed things out
By June 12 when my sister gets out from school I will make a try to go to Adelanto to get my extra rims
Then after I get then installed I will go to see if I can get the tire and wheel apart
Once I do that I will send them to be chrome
Hopefully I can get them back done before my birthday that way I can have my camaro all clean for my b day.

if I didn't had this problem on this T5 I bough I would get them but I am having a fellow friend change out all the gear to better ones to hold the power my new 350 is gonna put out, plus my father is making me go 5 speed (usually I wonder if he wants to be driving my camaro a lot more offen after my swap). And now I got stuck with a buget build. I did some math and I am barely gonna have the 400 need to chrome my wheels
Thanks man again for the link to the wheels
Thanks again to everyone for ur opinion on this
Once I get them chrome and clean and on my camaro I will take pictures so everyone can see

And I got my current 92 camaro wheel that I am thinking about add some slicks or some use tires for when I go to the strip for my b day.
And the these tires the chrome one for everyday use.
I just like having some extra parts. If you were to go into my garage I have two of every part for my camaro just in case
thats actually a pretty good idea me and my brother actually found an 87 z/28 camaro that mechanically was perfect but the body/interior/wiring was all shot so its our parts car its saved us at least 5 times already as we both have 85's not bad for a 400$ insurance policy my brothers electric fan siezed up about 30 minutes from home at the track he called me i ripped the fan out of the parts car brought it to him and he never missed a run...

Yeah I wish I had a parts car that way I can pick the things I need. I mean even though my garage seem to be a small warehouse lol (that's what my friends always say). I mean it is getting hard everytime to find the parts u need in the junkyard or other place here locally. I was thinking of selling a few parts to get some extra cash for my projects but could never do.. I just don't know why.... well that's just me.Originally Posted by zachkuby87

Okay so I talked with the seller of the chrome wheels and I am going this Saturday to pick them up.... well to see how they look and if they are what I need I will buy them...
Then hopefully Sunday have them install here in Costco since there is where I get my tires from.... well my parents do...
So I hope everything goes as plan
Also thanks Adrian for the link to the wheels
