To Whom It May Concern
Recently there has been several mistruths and exagerations thrown about on this boards. I'd like to clear up some of these now.
SCTPI was started by Don and Kevin back in April of 2010 as a way for people with an interest in making TPI engines better performers, and able to keep up with LS1's, Mustangs, and Dodges. While the focus of SCTPI is on the Chevrolet TPI engine, you do not have to own a vehicle with one to be a member. You simply have to want to learn more about the TPI engine, and enjoy spending time with a bunch of friendly, fun-loving people.
Don and Kevin broke away from SC3G and started SCTPI, to get away from the negativity, name-calling, and harassment that was going on by a few SC3G members. Our intent was not to compete with SC3G in any way, but to simply provide another outlet for people with a more specialized focus on the TPI engine in our cars. People are free to be members of both groups and enjoy both groups events, meetings, and activities. They're also free to be a member of only one group.
Please keep in mind that SC3G and SCTPI are two separate clubs and are in no way affiliated with each other. There are people who are members of both groups, but one group's members do not speak for the other and vice versa. SC3G is open to all 82-92 Camaro and Firebird owners, and is run by a panel of 5 elected officers who oversee events and activities with input from the members. SCTPI is open all people with a TPI engine under their hood regardless of vehicle, or to people who want to put a TPI engine in their vehicle, or to people who simply have an interest in the TPI engine and want to learn more about it. SCTPI is run by Don and Kevin, who plan events and activities with input from the members.
