Car: '91 Camaro Z-28
Engine: 350
Transmission: auto
12 second, '91 Z28 for sale, $4000

General Info: ’91 Z28, red, 140,xxx miles on body, I am the 3rd owner and have owned this car since Dec. ’96, all mods were done after I bought the car so I know everything about this car, the current motor has less than 1300 miles on it
Engine long block: Standard bore 350, 11:1 compression, Trick Flow 195 heads w/mild porting, Crane Gold 1:6 rockers, TRW forged pistons, Comp Cams XFI 280 —less than 10,000 miles on all parts, less than 1300 miles on rings and cam
Induction: Heavily modified and ported Accel lower manifold, SuperRam w/port matching work done to plenum, Twim 58mm BBK throttle body, homemade ram air w/K&N filters or throttle body cone K&N filter
Fuel: 30lb SVO injectors (1200 miles), adjustable fuel pressure regulator (Crane I believe), Holley 255 lph fuel pump
Ignition: MSD distributor, MSD coil, MSD wires, MSD 6AL ignition box, Optima Yellow Top battery, 145 Amp alternator
Exhaust: SLP 1 ¾” headers, Dyno Don 2 ½” piping to dual 2 ½” cats, 3.5” Mufflex catback with Magnaflow muffler
Suspension: Adjustable KYB shocks and struts, Global West wonder bar, Global West rear axle relocation brackets, boxed factory lowers and panhard bar with urethane bushings, urethane sway bar bushings, air bag in right rear spring
Transmission: fully rebuilt by Bowtie Overdrive 20,000 miles ago, freshened up 300 miles ago by a local tranny shop when Vigilante converter was pulled to be re-stalled to better match new cam, converter has new clutches and now advertised stall is 3600, B&M Mega shifter, TCI Valve body--FULL MANUAL REVERSE VALVE BODY—you will need to shift your own gears but the tranny will do exactly what you tell it to do when you tell it to do it
Rear axle: factory disk brakes, factory posi, rebuilt at 90,000 miles w/3:73 gears installed by Unitrax
Drive train other: Urethane motor and tranny mounts, urethane bushing on torque arm, Lakewood driveshaft safety loop
Exterior: From 30’ away it looks pretty good but paint original red paint is fading and is oxidized on rear spoiler and bumpers and a couple spots on the roof, there are a couple small dings and scratches but overall the car looks pretty decent, factory rims have been polished and have BFG KDW tires
Interior: Pretty clean with one small crack in the dash and a few of the standard dime to quarter size holes in the factory seat bolsters—headliner, sail panels and visors have been replaced
Performance: 349 RWHP before new catback/muffler, car ran consistent 12.80’s w/1.7 60’ times at Inland Invasion a couple weeks ago with a best pass of 12.69, all passes were on pump gas and the car was down 4-5 mph from two previous track days with better weather so I think it would have gone faster with race gas
Issues: A/C does needs repair/recharge, on hot days the car sometimes has a stumble coming off of long red lights, some interior panels are a little loose so car has some rattles, radio works but not well, door hinges are worn, interior switch on trunk release not working but it may just need to be hooked up as I might have knocked the connector off while working on shifter, missing tune port badge on bumper
More pictures: http://s468.photobucket.com/albums/rr46/xj2tow/Camaro/
The car is fast so sorry no joy rides.
Thanks for looking,
Jon

Re: '91 Z28 for sale, $5500
Here's the car at the LA Invasion:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/sout...-tnt-drag.html
Video says, "355" but it is a 350
http://bowtie0069.fotki.com/la-invas...11/page16.html
http://bowtie0069.fotki.com/la-invas...11/page23.html
The car photographs really well but it is not as clean as it looks in these links so if you're looking for a perfect 10 this car is not for you.

This is a really fun car to drive and it sounds great. Price is OBO so I'm willing to field offers as long as they are not absurd.

You would be mid low 12's in Famoso. I saw your car run LA Invasion, pretty sweet. My GTO runs 12.3's in Famoso, while it does 12.5~6 in Fontana. Elevation and weather makes the difference.

Thanks, I've wanted to go up there for years but never got around to making it happen. Hopefully it will have a new owner soon and they can take it into the 11's. Last time out it only ran 106 mph but the previous trip with better air it was running 111.

We had an SUV shipped from our NC office a couple years ago and I think it was about $700-$800. If you shop a little you could probably get a round trip flight for under $300. I know the car is worth every penny and then some but I would rather not sell the car sight unseen.

i understand about selling sight unseen. your car runs about a tenth better than mine right now. can I ask how you could have been trapping 111 and now only 106? the air at the la invasion was at 2000 according to 1320go.com, your talking about a 50 hp diff. to make that mph change. was your car #b726 at the invasion? just trying to see your times and what power your cars making.

Re: 12 second, '91 Z28 for sale, $4000
At the LA Invasion it was car #1948
I'm not great about saving slips and I can't find the slips from the day the car was running the higher mph but I do have a 110 and a 109.73 slip from 4/3/10.
I'm missing slips for a couple track days between that trip and the LA Invasion. One trip I had a best run of 12.99 and the other trip had a best of 12.8x.
I think the high/low mph is a combination of air and traction. The high mph days were cold and the car was skating out of the hole--this car like most others really loves cool air.
I have always run this motor on 91 pump gas and with the compression I have a feeling the motor is pulling timing on the warmer days so race gas may have made quite a difference.

I might have to do that. I drove it one time to work but other than that it hasn't been out of the garage since the last time I was at your shop--poor car.

Thank you all for the compliments and I appreciate the interest a number of members expressed in the car.
The car sold today and is now someone else's toy! I have a feeling the car will be seeing a lot more track time so I think it really went to the right person.

It was a local buyer from this forum and I got the impression that the car will be seeing some track time at Fontana.
Re: 12 second, '91 Z28 for sale, $4000
thanks jon, car will be seeing some track time, already has weld wheels and drag radials on it from my rs, will have a visit with the buffer this week, front sway bar removal, frame connectors added

Re: 12 second, '91 Z28 for sale, $4000
update:took the car to irwindale thursday night, ran a couple 8.12's back to back,(around 12.74 1/4 mile time) entered "king of the hill" dialed a 8.21 (traction was marginal) ran a 8.21 letting off at the first mph cone and coasting, car worked great, it's getting some 4.30 gears soon, well see what that does.
