'82 Mazda RX-7, 83,617 ORIGINAL miles, needs coolant/engine work, pics! - So Cal
I have it listed on ebay right now (no fees unless it sells, so why not?) and next up is Autotrader ad for the "run til it sells" deal. You can also go to the ebay page to check out the Carfax report on the car to verify mileage and smog. Its not called Carfax on eBay, its Autocheck which is something some dealers use to but its the same info AFAIK as Carfax. Car is in Temecula, CA and probably would need to be trailered to its home as it can't go more than a couple miles in its current state. Would be a great project as the rest of the car mechanically is fine, and if I had more time I'd do an LS1 swap or maybe even a 5.0 motor.
Anyway, the link for ebay is : Mazda : RX-7 - eBay (item 270764315882 end time Jun-18-11 16:48:50 PDT)
Here are some pics (click to get bigger pics), and scroll down below pics for more info and history of the car. If you have any questions or want some more pics please let me know! I can access here at work, so you can PM me on here or email me (faster reply) at : duffmanrha (at) hotmail (dot) com
I have more pics but can't post more than 8, so PM me for more pics!

The car for sale is a 1982 RX-7 w/ exactly 83,617 miles and these are ORIGINAL miles verified by receipts and Carfax! The car was bought brand new in 1982 and after the original owner passed away, the car sat for ~15 years under a cover until his daughter was able to drive. During that time it was started regularly, maintained properly (have original receipts), etc. After I took possession of it in 2006 I used it as a backup car, also lending to the low miles shown. Please read entire ad and check out pics on photobucket before inquiring, as this car is not running at 100% which is why I am selling it for so cheap. This car would be a great candidate for a project car, as everything is completely stock and everything works great except for the engine which needs cooling work. If I had the time I would be using this myself for a 5.0L swap car to have fun with, but have other things to work on at the moment and need to get this out of the garage!
With so few miles, the car is in pretty good shape, but the pictures can show the parts that need cleaning, touching up, replacing (such as the rear brake light cover), etc. It recently had rear wheel cylinders replaced, master cylinder replaced, and all new brake fluid pumped through the brake system. The trans kicks down properly, shifts great, and does not whine or make other noise; same goes for the rear transaxle as well. The whole car is completely stock and has not been modified at all. The car passed smog in 2008 just fine, which was the last time it was driven regularly. Title is clear and in my name only, no salvage or branded title at all. I even have the stock radio boxed up and will be included with the car, along with the ORIGINAL owner's manual and all receipts/invoices done.
The only problem w/ the car powertrain-wise is that it does overheat and has a coolant leak somewhere that I cannot find. It could be driven a few miles but that may be pushing it, so it should be trailered home or fixed at a local shop or something like that. You are welcome to check out the car and see for yourself what may need to be done, as unfortunately I am not an expert in these cars at all. The engine does start up and run, but it is carbureted so it is harder to start when cold (not much of a prob here in So Cal), but there is a choke that helps keep RPM up. The idle speed may need to be adjusted as the RPMs start to drop too low, and sometimes may stall out. Everything else with the car powertrain-wise is great and as it should be for the mileage, everything else is cosmetic on the inside or outside.
Thanks!
Eric
