San Diego Casino Cruise June 9th
From this thread:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/sout...go-casino.html
I was thinking of reviving this cruise and having it on Saturday June 9th. If that date works out, I'll contact the Casino and ask them about setting up a special parking place and discounts for us.
Edit, the date has been changed to Saturday June 9th

Re: SCTPI San Diego Casino Cruise - On Hold
As discussed at the Oct 23rd meeting, we will be driving down to Julian and Santa Ysabel Casino for dinner and gambling.
Don and I thought of meeting somewhere in Corona near the 91 and 15 freeways, and heading east from the 15 on Cajalco Road and Ramona Expwy, and then turning south and continuing on thru the countryside to Dudley's Bakery in Julian and then end up at Santa Ysabel Casino.
You do have to be age 21+ to enter the casino.
Since this is a dinner event, we'll be starting in the afternoon, around 2pm. Travel from Corona to Julian on this route is about 2.5 hours. Dinner opens at 4pm on Saturdays. I made us a reservation with the restaurant for 15 people. We will have to sign up for their player's club card to get the $5.95 prime rib special, but its free to sign up. They also offered to give us $10 in free slot play, and a roped off area for us to park our cars.
I need suggestions on where to meet in Corona for the Inland Empire guys. The OC and LA people can meet at Don's shop in Orange and travel to the Corona meeting point.

I'm in too. I just hope I can get that weekend off work. I haven't been on a cruise in a while so this would be great.

I did a little internet map searching and found a couple of places we can meet. One would be the Moreno Valley Mall off the 60 Freeway, but I have never been there and I dont know how accessable it is. Not to mention if they have overzealous mall security. Second option would be the Jack in the Box or Carl's Jr off of the 60 Freeway at Perris Blvd. That way we can grab a snack before we start. The route will be East on the 60 to Gilman Springs Road, and then South to State Street until we get into the mountains and get to Dudley's Bakery in Julian. Then back North a bit to Santa Ysabel Casino. From the 60 to Dudley's its about 2 hours. I would like to leave Don's at 12 noon, and head to the meeting point on the 60. We'll then leave at 1pm and head to Dudley's, arriving about 3pm. We'll spend an hour or so at Dudley's sampling their delicious food, and then head to the casino for dinner and gambling the rest of the night. Yes the Casino is 21+. Links to Dudley's and Santa Ysabel Casino are up above in this thread.

Kevin, can you detail the route from Perris/60 to Julian? I may drive the 100 miles to the start point if it's a nice drive.

Re: San Diego Casino Cruise June 9th
I was thinking of just meeting up with the crew at 60/Perris.
There is a shop near there that has some of my Dad's parts and I can't get ahold of them so I need to pay them a visit.
What time is the meetup at 60/Perris?

Something is screwy with my fan, I need to fix it at the Auto Hobby Shop on Base early Saturday morning and if I get it done in time, I'll meet you guys. I'll be headed up from San Diego.

Re: San Diego Casino Cruise June 9th
We're leaving Dyno Don's shop (2831 White Star Ave in Anaheim) at 12 noon, and then heading to the Jack in the Box at 60/Perris Blvd. Jack in the Box's address is 24985 Elder Ave in Moreno Valley. We'll leave Jack in the Box around 1pm, heading East on the 60 to Gilman Springs Road. Exit at Gilman Springs and continue SouthEast to State St. and turn right. Head South on State Street all the way till it dead ends at Cactus Valley road, and turn right. Then left on Sage Road, and stay on Sage Road all the way South till it joins with Highway 79. We will stay on the 79 all the way into Santa Ysabel and Julian where we will hit up Dudley's Bakery and then Santa Ysabel Casino. The cruise South should take about an hour and 45 minutes, so I expect to hit Dudley's around 3pm. We'll leave Dudley's for the casino when everyone is ready, but I'll tell the Casino to make our dinner reservation for 5pm.
Make sure to check your water and oil levels, and your tire air pressure. Also, bring your walkie-talkies so we can communicate during the cruise.

Does anyone have a stock radio for sale they can bring? The FM tuner on mine quit working and I'd like to swap it out before the cruise It's an 89 with the steering wheel controls.

Re: San Diego Casino Cruise June 9th
Sorry you missed out Dave, next time for sure.
All in all it wasn't too bad of a cruise, one car with vapor lock, (we think) one lost part of a coil pack (we think) and one got a little banged up (that we know).
I will let others explain.
I forgot, I avg, over 23 MPG. and returned home with 1/4 tank.

Re: San Diego Casino Cruise June 9th
So i drove back to SD on 4 cylinders, then the boost linkage came off on the freeway so I had to make in back on basically a naturally aspirated 4 cylinder
I put the linkage back on today and replaced my ignition module and all is good!
I had a great time on the cruise, glad everyone made it home safe. The cars are always fixable!!
