Hi Third Generation Experts,

I am thinking about selling my 1988 5.7L Iroc that is near showroom condition with 30K original miles. I have too many cars and no time outside of work and kids to enjoy this one.

My problem is that I have paid the registration, but avoided getting the Bi-annual smog check. It passed two years ago (numbers were just enough to pass) w/o needing a tune-up or any work. I am afraid to send it for smog after two years of minimal (300-500mi.)use before listing it for sale.

Does anyone know of a local mechanic that could tune-up the car and then get it smog checked in preparation of sale. My regular mechanic (who had been amazing), told my he does not want to work on "old cars" anymore.

Dyno Don and his son Kevin can tune and make all necessary repairs if needed. Only thing is he is in Orange County, but you won't find a better place for your Third gen. That all he works on.

I appreciate the help. I may need to figure out a way to make this work. It's hard to believe that no one in a city as big as ours can work on third gen's. Heading south seems like the way to go.

Thanks for the local information. Morgan was great. He had lots of information and called me back quickly. I will be bringing my cars to him soon.
I really appreciate the help. It's been to long that my to Iroc's have been sitting in the garage due to the hassle of California smog regulations and never ending renewals. No more post-1974 toys for me anymore.
