REAL fast, drum to disc question on the PV
REAL fast, drum to disc question on the PV
I saw the post on the mod for the PV valve and disc brakes.....can i just remove that plunger piston thing on my drum PV, or do i have to put the disc PV in there? I am putting my old 9 bolt 3.45 rear in there.

I still don't like that "mod" There is a reason the PV is different for the drum and disc. I shudder to think that there could be some fast 3rd gens out there with crappy brakes.

I don't like the mod either, but it's not going to produce "crappy" brakes.
Removing the valve simply means the rear brakes will get full pressure. The valve doesn't "create" extra pressure, it reduces existing pressure.
What I worry about more is someone stomping on the brakes and locking only the rear wheels going around a turn. That would be bad.

Hawk, that is what I meant by "crappy" brakes. I bet anyone that has done it will test straight line stopping distance and rave about it. I fear that wet traction will be instantly lost when the brakes are applied. Especially in a turn, the back end will insist on taking the turn first

Eh, sorry, crappy to me means brakes that don't brake... I'd have used another word (maybe dangerous).
Sorry for the misunderstanding.
However, I still think I'm going to do it to my car to see if there's something wrong with the PV. I doubt mine will be too terribly dangerous to test, since I'm doing it on the FRONT brakes.
