i just did my motor mounts
what a PITA this was one of the hardest things i ahve ever dones on my car
i put energy suspention poly mounts in
im lucky that i had ny dad to help me
if you dont need to do them consider your self lucky
took me about 8 hours to do and the hardest part is taking out and putting back the bolts that hold the mount to the frame
you have to go through the front control arm in little spots that you can and be thankful that you dont drop any nuts inside the k member luckly i did not
and on one of the passenger side bvolts you have to go through the coil spring if you dont want to take the control arm down
what hell
but it is done and my headers dont rattle any more on the frame but now since the motor is raised from the new poly motor mounts my flowtech y pipe sits flat aganst the floorboard and vibrats but atleast its not and bad as it Knocking
and my motor does not what to lift out of the car anymore
it was worth it but
what hell

I recently did this because I was pulling my a-arms and springs for upgrades. I figured since I'm doing the major stuff already, I'd do the mounts, as well. Good thing, too. They were shot.

well it also improved the way the engine rocked when you pwer braked it of reved it had or took off hard
the motor does not lift anymore and it does not rock back and forth at all
i recoment if you are going to change them get the polys there the only monts out there worth replacing the old ones will
if you put rubber ones back you will have the same problem

Did you also do the trans mount and if so did improve shifts? I'm entertaining the idea of doing today, any tips? It looks like a teach the neighbors new swear words job.

they did help out a little and now that i did the motor mounts my whole drive train is poly now except for the control arm and panhard rod
it tightens up everything alot
you may get a little more vibs but not bad and it is worth it
