Anti Sway bar front

I have a sway bar that is nominally 36mm

As I looked at the bushing mounting point
I noticed that it is not round in this area...

It is symetrical that is the left side is
shaped like the right side.

it is reasonably oval and varies
from a diameter of 1.48 inches to 1.35 inches

It is a WS6 car circa 1990

Could someone look at their sway bar
and tell me if yours is oval in this area.

When I installed my 36mm it was definitely round, an oval shape would cause a binding.

BTW, are you hitting "enter" everytime you reach the right side of the text box? cuz you know the text wraps automatically... just thought I'd let ya know since you appear to be new here...

Just make sure the bushing is well lubed and it should be OK.

Thanks lonsal
Some tuff I was reading the other day
had me convinced that this is a good
location for a urethane like bushing

That is low friction, low deformation

A drawback is that urethane will deform
under repeated cycling and as time passes
will arrive at a new shape

the oval shape, I think, will accelerate
this process, and eventually this will
create an situation where the stabilizer
bar is loose.

The more I think about it, it seems
that a stock rubber piece might be better

The reason I threw out the question is that
I wasn't sure if mine was damaged...

I looked at a 95 today and it is definetly round.

I was hoping that the autocross tuners would
chime in here :-)
