steering linkage interchangeable years ? and spindles ?

steering linkage interchangeable years ? and spindles ?
Hi, I have an 1984 Trans am with a V8. My steering linkage is SHOT 
I found a newer IROC-Z camaro(with V8) at the junkyard. I was wondering if there were any changes in the steering linkage and spindles in the years 84-92 ? I thought i heard that 90+ spindles are beefier ?
Im thinking of getting the spindles as well so i can modify them for 1LE brakes someday.
The junkyard quoted me $75 for the steering linkage set and bare spindles. Sound like a good deal ? the tierods/idler arm are nice and tight.
any ideas, comments, suggestions apprechated
