Tires sizes in general
Hey all
I forgot the exact size of my tires, Its been a while since I looked.
But I got bigger tires in the back, is this a bad thing?
there not wider than the fronts , they are just bigger in height.
damit wish I knew the exact sizes in my head, I dont wanna go outside to look. But any info regarding this would be grateful.
If its a bad thing ill take it back to where i bought them, and have them throw on the reg size tires.
What is the standard regular size tire for a Camaro?

I think the only thing larger rear tires will hurt is your speedo. You might want to get it recalibrated if you want to keep those tires. It wouldn't be bad to get someone to drive around with you in their car and see how accurate the speedo is now.

Yes, taller rear tires will show a lower speedo reading than you are actually going. They will also change your gearing a little, so you'll get slightly less off-the-line grunt. However, your fuel economy will improve.
For the regular Z28 15x7 wheels, the stock tire is 215/65/15. However, 235/60/15 will give you a but more rubber on the ground and still fit fine, as well as still being the right diameter, so your speedo isn't affected.
The only reason for having WIDER tires on the back would be drag racing, or if you've got a whole lot more power than stock. Otherwise you don't want it on these cars, because it just caused more understeer ("push" in Bubba-Talk, except now they call it "tight").

WHats going on?
I was at the last meeting for the TFA.
I didnt see your car thou. I was dissapointed.
I like Yellow IROCS they are mint.
so about the tires, the suspention is the same with the big tires on the back? I thought I would be loosing better handling.
What is the main point of the bigger tires on the back for?
becuase when I bought new tires I just told them to stick on the same sizes casue It looked cool, now that I know fairly more about cars, I start to wonder.

Well, I wasn't at the first social event but I was at the ARE Dyno Day. Also expect to make it to the first autox at Mosport.
Bigger tires on the back make the back end stick better, letting the front wash out more. You would only want bigger tires on the back if you need them for extra traction. BTW, I just got new tires, Kumho ECSTA Supra 712, 245/50/ZR16 with a W speed rating. I'll find out how good they really are at the autox.

I got some cheap MOtoMaster Tires right now.
But they are nice and thick tread is waht I wanted for the winter.
I just wanted to make sure that the back tires was ok.
I wasent sure how good it was to have big tires on the back.
How come you dont see many put big tires on there backs?
