Rear Rotor on an 89 IROC Questions
Hello,
I'm going to attempt changing a rear rotor on my 89 IROC Camaro. The one on there is in pretty bad shape. The rotors have previously been cut and that one is chewed up so I figured time to replace it. I can either get Raybestos(Owned now by Timeco) or Bendix for 68$. Anyone know which is better? Also do I absolutely have to replace both rotors, or is it ok as long as the other one isnt in as bad a shape. I don't think this will be too difficult, but I have not tried this before. Is there anything I should look out for? I don't have to remove the caliper from the brake lines or anything more then just taking it off the rotor do I? My GM Service manual doesnt go too indepth as far as getting at the rotor but it is detailed about removing the caliper.
Thanks as always,
Martin

Make sure you check the rotor size, if you have a 9-bolt axle the
rotors will be 11.655. They may be trying to sell you the 10.5
rotors. The price seems cheap.
And yes, replace both rotors and it may be a good idea to replace the pads also.

Ok, I'm pretty sure about the 11.65" rotors. J65 option, and I said 11.65" so hopefully they have the right one. Do both of them have to be replaced because they have to be the same thickness? Also is there a preference between the manufactureres? I did grab some new pads, they have a lot less surface area then the fronts.

Thanks,
I guess thats what I am going to go with. I'm thinking the Bendix rotors because they list them for around 68 where as the raybestos list for 58 I figure that cant be right. Hate replacing both of them right away but if its what has to be done in the long run im better off getting it over with.
Thanks Again
