New springs: My ride looks a little goofy now... also, what about spring stabalizers?

I took my car to monroe this afternoon to get the front springs replaced... they had been broken since I bought the car a year ago, and I did check... both were defunct beforehand. Anyhow, I just installed a 36mm sway bar and decided to ask for heavy duty WS6 springs which ran the same cost as standard v8 springs. Well when I dropped it off it was riding about 1.5" low in the front and when I went to pick it up, the whole front looked like it had a raising kit. It's about 2" high now, and it looks totally goofy. I was wondering if when the springs settle whether they will drop to the normal height or if It's pretty much how it's gonna be?

My other Question:

I bought a set of spring stabalizers which basically clamp two coils together to drop the height of a pair of springs by about 1.5" I planned to use them to remove some springs from another car.

I was wondering if these have any drawbacks or if they cause premature wear?

Well, thanks in advance.

They could have screwed it up. The spring has to sit just right in the A-arm or it's wrong. I'd check into that. As for the spring stabilizers, I don't know. I won't use them but ask around.

That sounds plausible... but I just checked the height and it's 7" from tire to fender in the front and only 3" in back... I wouldn't think placing it in the A-arm wrong would cause 4" of lift... it is very odd. I hopped up on the hood (cause I can't just sit on it now) and the shock didn't do anything. Man am I gonna look funny drivin' to school this morning.

I'm takin' it back after class to see if they have any ideas and I'll ask them about the stabalizers if anybody is curious. I like the springs and I really don't want to take them out if I can help it.

I ran the spring stabilizers, flipped over (to raise the car), on my back springs before I got air shocks. I don't think you'd want them at all on the front, and besides, I don't think they'd even fit under there. The front coils are much thicker. If you're going to remove springs from another car, buy a spring compressor. A spring compressor isn't needed to remove our rear springs, since the axle drops straight down, but as ya know, we definately need one for the fronts.

Sounds like they didn't get the springs seated in frame correctly. There's a post in the frame that needs to sit inside the springs. If the springs aren't seated around the post, then your car is gonna sit just like you described.

To properly install the springs, you need to get them seated correctly in the frame FIRST, THEN swing the A-arm into position and bolt everything together.

Sounds like they put the springs on the A-arms frist then raised the whole assembly up into the frame. The springs will never seat correctly that way.
