Brakes and Shocks Questions??
I'm kind of getting tired of a few things,
1) my car's braking ability sucks big time
2) the oldness of the car and all the rattles
now my questions
1) would buying some aftermarket brake rotors/calipers be worth the money, I don't have the money for BAER, though I wish I did.
I've seen in Summit some rotors/calipers for like $500 or so, is that just for 1,2 or all 4? I was thinking 1. Which do you guys recommend?
2) would it be possible to put aftermarket disc brakes on my drum brake rear end? would this be worth the money, being on a budget?
3) I'm guessing my car rattles some due to worn suspension, as far as I know the shocks have never been replaced. I want a smooth riding car, but I want something that will handle well. Right now my car handles pretty good I think, course I've owned 2 Mustangs, 1 TA (2nd Gen), so they're not much of handlers. Would replacing the shocks help out my riding smoothness? What is recommended?
Any other ideas of how I can improve my braking, handling/smoothness of ride?
Thanks for the input. OH, and prices too if you have an estimate.

i put KYB shocks and struts on my car along with all new energy suspension bushings and it helped out a lot of the firmness of the car. the rattles went away as well. i also went to autozone and bought new calipers, rotors, pads and front brake lines for my 91z28 and it cost me like $50 for everything. the car stops so much better. the stock brake lines suck after they have miles on them. if you wantto spend a little mor emoney then get some Russel stainless steel lines.
spend a whole weekend and tighten every single bolt and nut you can touch in the interior of your car. the dash rattles a lot on our cars. just tighten all the bolts and it should help some but the major help is the bushings and shocks.
the KYB shocks are a great deal for the money and they work great. i am usinghtem with Eibach pro kit lowering springs. i dont think you will ever get a 3rd gen to ride like a newer fbody or a caddy
