SSBC Front brake upgrade kit?

Has anybody tried SSBC's brake upgrade kit available through Year one? My right front rotor is totally shot and i'm not wanting to go with stock replacements again, but i have no money for a complete brake system. At 250 bucks this kit comes with cross drilled rotors, pads and harware. Seems like a good deal to me, but is it worth my time?

Eric

Honestly, I think Year One is WAY overpriced. If you shop around you can probably find what you need for less $$$

If you still decide to stick with Y1 then you will not be dissappointed. The kit comes with everything you need. I swapped all the parts and repacked the bearings in less than 2 hours.

The only upgrade is that the rotors are slotted.

Pukka,
I bought mine from year 1, and you're right it is a little overpriced. I haven't fitted mine yet, and helpful hints appreciated.

If you have ever worked on disc brakes before, its a snap.

If you haven't done this before, its pretty straight forward:
Jack up and secure the car
Remove the wheel
Remove the caliper retaining bolts, move and secure the caliper
Use a screwdriver to pry open the bearing cap
Remove the nut, washers, and bearings
Remove the bearing seals off the old rotor. Replace them if they are worn.
Swap rotors
Inspeect, clean, and repack the bearings

Reassembly is the reverse.

Not really any tips involved. Just expect to get your hands really greasy.

Thanks for that Pukka,

In the general scheme of things do the old rotors come off pretty easily, e.g. with a couple of taps, or do you need a puller?

You shouldn't even need to tap them, they'll almost fall off on their own.

The only muscle needed is to loosen and torque the bolts that are involved.
