Brake Drag?
Brake Drag?
alright eliminating tires as the variable...ie they have been rebalanced, rotated and balanced on car. Alright, it pulls to the right,im guessing either the reman'ed calipers are to blame or those lil bastard slider pins/screws. The front end has new ball joints, tie rod ends, idler arm and pitman are only 2 years old. Tires track straight when the car is in the air (not a power steering issue)umnn what else? oh yeah the cars alignment is 0 toe 0 camber 5.5 caster on both sides. this thing pulls to the right on a runway so im doubting crowns are the problem. What else can we eliminate....well i think thats about it....its a firm pull to the right going down the road....when i slow down it pulls more aggressively...so im guessing that the alignment is holding it straight better...one other thing, when the car is cold it doesnt do it....so...i thought it was pwr steering, but nope not that...could it be the brakes warming up and f#@$ing up?
Alright well i replaced everything brake related in the front except the hoses....this sucker TURNS hard to the right when you are at low speeds and get on the brakes without holding onto the wheel.....i heard a metallic noise last night on my final test drive coming maybe from the rear brakes....im a bit perplexed...the strut mounts look suffice. i dont know what could be causing this...
Just had this problem a month or so ago.
I replaced the calipers and hoses and that did it...I think the hoses were collapsing because of age.
I also pumped all the old brake fluid out (looked like mud) and added new ...I think the hoses were more $ than the calipers.
