Thanks, by the way, what size is that open element filter you've got in there, and is it sitting on a throttle body or a carb?

BMR Fabrications makes a nice one too, 3 poing and very stable. runs about 139 in almost any color and 149 (I think) in super silver (its almost chrome, I've seen it) powder coat. I have a black one and I really like it.

I like the edelbrock 3 point, I've got it but there is something about having an extra piece of metal with the initials of the company that just doesn't look very clean to me.
Even their torque arm has that but at least THAT is part of the brace, unlike the STB.

As you probably saw in my sig, I have one of these myself and I can say if I didn't see it in person I probably wouldnt have bought it. That plate does make it look weak there in the pics. That however is far from the case. It is a 1/2 inch thick piece of steel, and is solidly welded on. You would be very hard pressed to flex it at all, especially since there are no pivot points like there are on the Edelbrock. I do understand that takes nothing away from the support of it though. A friend of mine has ine on his TBI, and that was the one I was going to get for mine until I did the ram air setup. Very strong and quality built brace on both accounts. Its really a matter of preference since the price is about the same. I ended up with the BMR mostly because they were local.

BTW, I misread something, the plate on thier brace is part of the brace, they used the flat piece and the bends to clear the TPI manifold.

Cool, I thought it was just a small piece of metal and the tube went behind it. I still don't like but it's a matter of preference like you said. Some like to have stickers and tags all over the place, I'm the complete opposite. The only stuff I'll advertise is SLP, GM, and AC Delco. Those companies are die hard Chevy so I feel that I should support them if anybody.

I know what you mean, I dont have any stickers either. I used to in my younger days but i guess it was just a phase. I like a clean look, especially when I pull up beside ricers who think stickers add HP.

"Hey its stock, lets burn him."
" Yea we gots 300 HP worth of stickers"

Green light

"Where'd he go?"
" I think that's his tail lights way up there":lala:

Anyway, like I said, If they werent local I wouldn't have bought it. The people who run the shop are very nice and the price was right. And if theres ever a problem I know I can just take it back and swap it instead of waiting days or weeks for the mail. I try to support local businesses as much as I can, considering theyre not selling junk.
