1 in raise???????
1 in raise???????
I've got a question, Somebody was trying to tell me that on the third gen body styles, you get better handling if you raise it an inch instead of dropping it. Comments and suggestions about this would be much appreciated.
The only thing I can think of is for drag racing. Raising 1" makes a longer moment arm for weight transfer and also raises the instant center. The result is more traction. I wouldn't think it would help cornering unless the increased ride height changed the suspension geometry enough to compensate for the higher center of mass.

Usually just leaving it is best.
It's the 'roll center height' that you must be concerned with when engineering a car, any car, to corner better. It is a measurement taken that triangulates the A arms. spindle pivots and one other calculation that eludes me at this moment. Once measured, you find your roll height.
If the car is too low, that calculated point, much like a center of gravity, is actually below the pavement surface. Not real good.
