Brakes WTF?

I just found out about this website, I wish I knew about it sooner. The problem I am having is my brakes Suck! I have an unaltered 92 Z-28 58,000 original miles. It has four wheel discs, cast iron front calipers, and the PBR rear calipers. I have changed the master cylinder, front and rear pads with carbon metallics, resurfaced all rotors. I have inspected all the brake lines for cracking, and flushed and bled the system 4 times. It seems the rear brakes are not working like they should. I can jack up the car put it in gear and let the rear wheels turn. I leg press the brake pedal, and the rear wheels just keep on turning. If I apply the parking brake, and push on the brake pedal at the same time the wheels finally stop. My brakes seem to work a little better after I warm them up. What do you think the problem could be? Sorry for such a long post, but this problem is starting to **** me off! PS there is no way to adjust the parking brake cable.

Welcome!

How does it stop during normal everyday driving? A lot of us experience those symptoms but to be honest there isn't really a cure. The rear PBR calipers can be adjusted. Pick up a GM manual for your year and model for info on how to do it (Highly recomended to have anyway)

First off, welcome to the site, where you will be spending all of your free time. Second, yes you can adjust your e-brake. I can't remember all the instructions, but try the search feature on the site. It's a great tool.

After all the work you did, I have no idea what the problem could be...maybe vacuum booster?

I have a question. How often do you use your parking brake?

It is a MUST that you ALWAYS use the parking brake to keep the rear calipers working properly and to keep them adjusted.

Once I got in the habit of setting the parking brake, my rear brakes stared operating better. I actually wear the pads out now.

Thanks for the inputs. I never use my parking brake. I guess I should go out and cycle it a few times. It just might help.
Thanks again!
