Disc Brake Rear

Are the axles for a 3rd gen disc brake rear the same as a 3rd gen drum rear? My car currenty has a 28 spline posi and drum axle combo, and I have a 26 spline disc brake setup. I would like to put the disc rear in my car and use the 28 spline axles and posi.

well, I just found out the car is coded for 3.23's and Positraction. I wonder if the GM posi's are rebuildable?

Thanks in advance.

Mark

I hear there's a bit of a diameter difference in the hubs, but a 28 spline 10 bolt axle will interchange with a 26 spline 10 bolt axle. It'll work. I.E., There may be a problem fitting the rear discs over the drum axles.

I am using drum axles with my disc setup. The POWERSLOT rotors seem to work with both axles. Check the dia of your axle (the lip where the rotor sits) and then goto a parts store and ask to check that same dia on a rotor they have.
