Installed the manual steering last week, easy swap huh...
I bought some v-6 springs from the junkyard to put in...
The dealer shows that all front springs on 82-92 camaro's are the same, even the iroc springs. I even saw it on the screen. That's not right is it? I went to check it out after one guy told me the dealer told him. But it doesn't seem right.
I'm going to try the manual brakes after I put the 9" rear in.

Front springs should be very different from model to model. Rear springs should all be the same since the rear weight of the cars should vary very little. Chances are the dealer won't carry each type of spring. They'll now only have a standard replacement to fit all models.
If in doubt about the front springs, take a micrometer or a simple caliper type measuring tool to the junkyard and measure the thickness of the wire used to make the springs. Thick wire in the IROC and WS6 cars means a higher spring rate and stiffer springs. The V6 springs are much thinner wire. Although I never measured any of the rear springs they should all be roughly the same. IROC and WS6 rear springs should be a bit thicker just because of the performance handling package
Hmmm. I know of an 83 with a 4cyl iron duke engine in the local yard. I should go rob those front springs. My car sits about right with the V6 springs since I have so much weight stripped off the car. 4 cyl springs if they have an even lighter spring rate may make the front of my car sit too low. It's a pain just getting it off the trailer now.
Looks like it's going to be a busy weekend again

Good Idea, didn't think about measuring the thickness of the coil.
I'm with you I think GM just put one standard coil out after production to limit storage and such.
Do coil overs actually run around $800? I did a search and that's what everybody seems to be saying.
I guess buy the time you buy shocks and the kit it will run that much...
I'm going to go ahead and buy some adjustable front shocks and probably convert later on.(maybe when I decide to get a k-member)

There are only 2 front spring part numbers now. They are: 14029399 and 14029396. The first is a VERY stiff spring, I am using it now.. and really like it. I know the other is not as stiff, but I don't know to what extent. I can't seem to get a hold of the spring rates for either one.
