Man it has been awhile...

I want to build my 87 into a (really) budget G-machine/autoxer, and I have almost NO money for rims once I have slaped some good rubber on them.

In the classified or Ebay, what rims should I look for for a high handling application and could accept some decent size rubber that are cheap? Btw, they are comp only so they can be butt ugly for all I care...

---

What I was thinking myself was the factory Corvette rims of the late 80s/early 90s... pretty ugly but I think that they were at least 8 1/2 inches wide...

Ty, ty,ty!!!

Used Nascar wheels steel 15x10. Contact the guys at bidracer.com They run a warehouse out of NC that buys all the used stuff. Probably won't fit on your car w/o some work, but definately the cheapest 10s you'll find. I don't know the max BS that you can run on our cars. That should be the next question to ask.

The 16X8 GTA wheels are strong, lightweight, and are veterans of autocross applications for 3rd gens. I've seen quite a few used sets for $400. A Ben Franklin per rim is not a bad price at all. Of course they are not dirt cheap either.

Plus GTA rims actually look good. Someone on the classifieds had a set listed right now for $450.

By the way, C4 rims would involve a spacer to get the backspacing right.

I wouldn't pay $100 either for a stock wheel that has curb rash, warpage, or clear-coat flaking. Excellent condition examples are another story.

The ugly-but-usable category of GTA wheels would fetch probably $60 each from a salvage yard.

Check out Diamond Racing Wheels, steel NASCAR style wheels in about any width or offset you want, 15x8's start at $50 each, 16x8 road racing wheels are $99. I'm looking in to 16X10's for my Hoosiers

Thanks for all the help! Looks like all I can get in my price range will be 8 inches of width... How much tire could I fit in 8 inches? 275s?
