Help me put together the ultimate suspension.

Topic says it all. Its about time to rebuild all the supsension in my 91' RS convertible. I want great handling but a decent ride too. Here is what I'm planning so far: Spohn SFC's ( if they are ever done ), Eibach Pro-kit springs, all of Ground Control Racings goodies, urethane bushings. What would be a good shock for performance street and the occasional blast at the track? How about brakes, I plan to add 4th gen rear, I was thinking Baer Track kit up front and upgraded rotors in the rear.

1LE brakes (Cheaper than Baer and just the same), ES poly bushings and mounts, any good aftermarket suspension parts (LCAs and P/H rod), Bilsteins or Konis, Eibachs.

Your suggestions will be a very good start!

I suggest you get a catalog from GULDSTRAND MOTORSPORTS. I use their poly-graphite bushings in my TDS 200170 Greasable Front Sway Bar Bushing Kit. It will go a long way towards explaining how to set up your car for the type of driving you want to do.

Here is my list:
1) Install a weld-in SFC. Alston makes one (which I use) that works on convertibles.
2) Upgrade the F&R sway bars to the 34mm or 36mm (both hollow) and 24mm rear.
3) Install a Steering Brace (aka Wonder Bar) TDS sells one for $40 p/n 105021. It will tighten the front end steering response AND more importantly help prevent the frame from cracking where the steering box mounts.
4) Swap the sway bar bushings for poly-graphite (after you have the new sway bars). Get a good brand such as Energy Suspension or Guldstrand Motorsports.
5) Inspect and replace worn frons suspension components. End links, tie rod ends, center link, pitman arm, idler arm, ball joints, a-arm bushings (I use and recommend Del-A-Lum from Global West, but they are pricey).
6) Upgrade the sway bar end links. I use the 1LE 4-link kit GM p/n 10221779. You'll need 2 per sway bar. Another option is Energy Suspension's version.
7) Springs. Here you need to make a decision about what type of driving you want the car set up for. Canyon carving or drag racing? If you answer both, then you will have to compromise. Stick with 1LE or WS6 springs then. I have my car set up for corner-carving and use Eibach Pro-kit springs. But they allow very little weight transfer, which hurts 1/4 mile launches.
8) Shocks & Struts. Again same decision needs to be made. I use Bilstein which I got from www.shox.com.
9) Brakes. Upgrade to 1LE f&r as Ed recommended. Also upgrade to disc rear and posi if you haven't.

I've done most of this list, except the brakes. That is still on my "to-do" list. Look at the link to my profile if you want a more detailed list.

Good luck and have fun, Lon.

I'll chime in again.

I'm waiting on Spohn SFCs (for the time being) so I don't have any SFCs.

My Iroc:

Eibach Pro-Kit
KYB Gr-2s up front/ Gas-a-just rears
Moog steering components (Center link, tie rods, ball joints)
ES bushings on all front end, tranny mount, torque arm, and engine mounts
BMR tubular LCAs and adjustable panhard rod, both poly/poly
Earl's SS brake lines
EBC brake pads
1LE brakes
36/24 swaybars w/ ES end links, stock wonderbar

Car rides and handles EXCELLENT!!

Heres what I got.

Front end rebuild with all Moog parts
1LE 36mm front 24mm rear
Energy Suspension poly bushings, motor and tranny mount
Steve Spohn adjustable LCA's panhard bar, torque arm and SFC
Eibach pro kit springs with Koni red shocks and struts.
Wonderbar
Iroc steering box
13 inch Baer Track system

Also when building up the suspension don't overlook the tires/wheels. You will never be able to take full advantage of this type of suspension on 15 inch wheels with 245/60/15 cheap tires.
Upgrade to at least 16 inch wheels and look into getting good tire to go along with it.

They weld or bolt (BMR) on the rearend where the LCA bolts onto it. Right there.

There's pics of it in some threads.

You want the ultimate suspension? Money an object here?

Do what the people above have suggested but add this:

Tubular A-arms
Coil Overs for the front (they do have them) search for TTA850 (Steve) and ask him (or just do a search on the whole board really) what kind he's got on his GTA and yes I've seen them in person on the car. He's probably tired of answering everybody's questions on them anyway.
