Help! ?? Car sits higher???

I just swapped out my rear shock & sway bar. Jacked up the car where the manual shows the jack to go, put in the BMR swaybar & Monroe replacement shocks, & when I lowered the car, it didn't lower as much as I thought!

Seems to be about 1 & 1/2 inch higher in back now. The front doesn't seem any higher after swapping out the front struts & swaybar> Did I do something wrong?

Could I have gotten/been given the wrong shocks, or should I have jacked up the rear raising the back axle at the same time to swap in the sway bar???

shocks usually wont make your car sit higher as they are only there to absorb imperfections in the road however if the shocks are to long they could keep the car from going all the way down I would check to see if they are completly compressed, check to see if the springs are in the cups if all is in order you may want to try pushing down on the back of the car, my moms car had the same problem when I put it on a lift at work to rotate & balance the tires and change the oil after putting it down it sat about 2 inches higher in the front when I pushed down the front it went down to normal and has not had a problem since
