Why are the front/rear spring rates so different?...
Like the ground controls that I have. 800lbs in the front and 175lbs in the rear. Why are they so far apart? When I try to think of it this would cause the rear to feel apart from the rest of the car. (which my car seems to be like) because the front would roll only a bit. While the back end would roll alot. From what I know the weight at each front wheel is around 1000lbs. and the weight at each rear is about 680lbs. So it makes me wonder why the front would be 200lbs less then the weight. And the rear would be 500lbs less O_o. Even the eibach prokit, sportline, intrax, etc. they all have this extreme difference in front and rear also. I'm confused as to why they set it up this way. I'm considering ordering new springs for the rear. Probably about 500lbs for the rear.

Well for one thing the fronts don't compress the same amount as the suspension travel; only about 1/3 as much. So that 800 lbs/inch at the spring is only about 275 lbs/in at the wheel. The rears don't have a leverage situation.

how about the engine up front
when braking it transfers about 85% weight towards the front. so to keep the front from nose diving you need a high rate spring. with the rear, you have very little weight. so you don't need near the same amount of spring rate to control the rear.
